Guest guest
hi newbie! wow, your the third deafblind person i have seen around on the 'puter! amazing to me, and very interested in reading about you! i'm hearing, hubby deaf, just got turned on wednesday! what a diference a few days make! nice to see ya here! m ;-) > Good morning! > > I recognize a few " faces " on this list <griN> I found this via searching on Groups a few nights ago, just out of boredom! I thought I'd join and learn more about CI's since I have a few friends that are users of CI, and have had good success with it <grin> > > I am Canadian, and am deafblind. Many moons ago, before my audi moved back to his home country, he said I'd be a good candidate for a CI once my hearing worsens. I was reading old audiological reports from growing up and have seen quite a few changes in my hearing. At this time I am severe to profound bilatirally, but with the use of high power hearing aids, I hear conversations well, but that decreases in areas where background noise interferes. I am a guide dog user, awaiting news when I leave to get my second dog, Bronze was my first dog. He is a fine black Lab, who barks at doors for me when I don't always hear people approaching it, etc. He is living here, and my mother adopted him, so he will still be around to alert me to things, even though he taught himself that task <grin> He learned early on, if he whines I can't hear him with or without my hearing aids, so barking is the way to go LOL! > > Hope to learn as much I can about CI's... My favourites is hearing everyone's success stories <grin> > > J & B > > > Jen and retired Bronze (A.K.A. This is a good list, you will be sure to learn much. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* It is far more impressive when others discover your good qualities without your help. --Judith S. & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/
