Guest guest
------------------------------------------------- Gratitude For Your Life In General -------------------------------------------------- Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men, but be careful that you do not take the day and leave out the gratitude. (E.P. ) - www.thanksgiving-day.org/thanksgiving-day-quotes.html --------------------------------------------------------------- Cherishing Your Challenges & Challengers --------------------------------------------------------------- Growth is a cyclical process. Each time you go through a difficult stage you experience a dark night. Then you come into a morning and things feel good and easy for a while. You have the light of understanding. Then you face another challenge. This can occur on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. It's good to know that, at those times when you feel as if you don`t know what you`re doing, you are going through a cycle. It's part of the process. (Shakti Gawain, from the book, Awakening: A Daily Guide To Conscious Living) - www.shaktigawain.com ------------------------------------------- Cherishing the Moments by Communing with Mother Earth ------------------------------------------- One of the reasons there is so much illness over much of the planet is that you are not connected to the land. You live on so much concrete and asphalt. Every person on this planet would be healthy if they were able to live connected to the land. Those who go to the parks that are available, or climb the mountains, or walk in the forests, or go to the beaches, are seen as healthy because they are athletic. Well, yes; however, they are healthy people because their bodies are connecting with the energies of the natural forces in this world. If you live in the city and you wish to improve your health, simply go stand barefoot on dirt or grass for at least thirty minutes a day. Use a chair and place your feet flat upon the ground, or lie on a blanket on the ground — under a tree would even be better, as then your body can absorb the energy of that tree, as well. In the not-too-distant past, everyone was connected to the Earth for at least half an hour a day. It was only with your Industrial Revolution that that ended. Changes occurred then in the balance within the body… My dear ones, it is not difficult to keep your bodies in balance. Many people exercise in their gyms and with their machines. This has many good effects, but it does not bring the body into balance. This can be accomplished by just going outside with the sun in your face or taking a stroll for half an hour. Sitting under a tree would bring your bodies into balance more. Yes, some people need a way to expend their energy in strong exercise. That is how they have created themselves. Other people do not need that. It is an illusion that you need all of these things because you are an infinite being. The way you have created your bodies to work is that, in this role of human limitation, you have to respond out there with nature. Think of how much better you feel when you have a chance to stroll outside. You think it's because you've put aside the cares of the day, that you're getting away from the artificial lights and the artificial fabrics that are everywhere. And that is all true. You are doing that. And it is also about being in the energy of nature. Again, at the very least, be able to place your feet on grass or dirt that is not laid on concrete. I am talking about being on the Earth. Take the opportunity to be there with flowing water — the rivers and creeks and streams, the ocean, and the falls. Take the opportunity to be there with trees, with their energy coming into you. Yes, you can place your hand upon a tree, or even a growing potted plant if that is all you have, and ask for some of its energy. But know that the true power is out there with trees and plants and water that are in the ground. You can ask them to share with you their energy of growth, and it will bring you more into balance. (Amma through Chapman) - www.OdysseyToWholeness.com ---------------------------------------- Gratitude For Who You Are ---------------------------------------- No matter what our achievements might be, we think well of ourselves only in rare moments. We need people to bear witness against our inner judge, who keeps book on our shortcomings and transgressions. We need people to convince us that we are not as bad as we think we are. ( Hoffer) ----------------------------------------------------------- What We Say, Be, & See – We Become ------------------------------------------------------------ Beloveds, you are the cocreators of the future, and as such, you must script your new reality and be very clear as to what you wish to experience in the future. What is your passion? What are your deepest burning desires? If you could manifest your wildest dreams, what would they be? How do you wish to display your self-mastery for the greatest good of all, including yourself? You must answer these questions if you are to draw forth, activate with your loving energy and convey the maximum amount of full-spectrum light from Creator, called adamantine particles — the magic elixir of life and all creation… We have stated before that your earthly contract is completed — and that applies to every soul on Earth. We have stated that the divine plan has moved to the next phase or level, and this means that everyone must move forward on the spiral of ascension. This also means that every person on Earth is being given an opportunity to write a new galactic contract. That means scripting your future — or your future will be decided for you, and it will not be nearly as exciting or filled with potential. Each person must take responsibility for her or his own past, future and present. It is more important than ever for each person to "know thyself." (Archangel through Ronna Herman) - www.RonnaStar.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Neutralizing Negativity & Preferring Positivity ---------------------------------------------------------------- If you're like most people, you notice what goes wrong more often than what goes right. Human beings seem hard-wired to notice how reality fails to meet some idea of how they think things should be. How many times a day do you sink into disappointment, frustration, or sadness because others haven't met your expectations? If you limit your attention to how life lets you down, you blind yourself to the myriad gifts you receive all the time. You may, for example, have ideas about the ideal holiday visit with your family: where it will take place, who will be there, how everyone will act, what you'll eat, what kinds of presents you'll exchange. But the visit surely won't match that ideal. And that's when you're likely to act like a child who has his heart set upon a certain toy for Christmas: As he unwraps one present after another, not finding that one toy, he grows ever more upset and disappointed. Utterly dejected, the presents he has received lie unattended. You can end this frustrating situation by mindfully shifting your attention. Begin by paying attention to the reality of what is rather than the desires you cling to. For the fact of the matter is, regardless of how dissimilar your holiday gathering (or any other moment in life) might be from what you had imagined, there is much to be grateful for. Consider the effort it took for your family members to get together; the vehicles that brought you all to the same spot — and all the people who constructed and helped maintain them; the house where you've gathered; the trees whose limbs burn in the fireplace. Your food, whether vegetable or animal, was once a living thing and is now providing you with nourishment. And that food did not just magically appear. Before it was cooked, it required the energy of the sun, the minerals of the earth, the rain, the work of farmers, processors, truckers, and retailers — plus the cooks in your family — to bring it to your table. At its most profound, Naikan is practiced on retreat with trained counselors. From dawn until night, every day for a week, you sit and reflect on your mother what you received from her, what you gave to her, and what troubles you caused her. You generally spend about two hours reflecting on your life from birth to age six, and then for each three-year period after that, meeting with a counselor after each session, until your whole life has been examined in relation to your mother. You then move on to your father, siblings, lovers, friends, and others. In such a situation, you are free to honestly look at how you have lived your life. Naikan can also be done as a daily practice. The rewards will become immediately evident in the blossoming of a natural, deeply felt sense of gratitude and appreciation for your life and for all the gifts you receive daily?gifts that you realize were always there but that went unnoticed and therefore unappreciated. The practice of Naikan can lead you to the realization that you are rich indeed, and that you are not only not alone but are truly supported by the universe! You may even come to see the truth in the exhortation of the 13th-century mystic Meister Eckhart: "If the only prayer you said in your whole life was `thank you,' that would suffice."
