Use 1 part wheat germ oil, 1 part honey and enough powdered comfrey to make

an easy-to-spread paste.

I sent some to a friend whose hubby is a welder and she got an oven door

burn on her knuckle. She rubbed it in the jar and never felt a thing after

that. it was bad enough to make a blister but healed ***zip*** fast!

Jina, I take it you do not have an aloe vera plant? Got any vitamin e liquid or gel caps... If gel caps, snip an end and squeeze onto the burn... do this couple times a day if necessary until it heals. It is in the files. Dr 's I think. Long and incredible post. Kids playing with gasoline and matches - regrowing flesh and bones, etc. Good read except for the one whose parents opted for standard medical treatment.

Aloe. Cold pressed 100% aloe gel is what I keep in just about every room in

the house.

I am working at a cleaners and the presses put out about 400 degree steam this is where i got the burn, it was all I could do to keep from crying it hurt so bad, it's on my left hand and while my knuckles are ok the burns on my fingers are not, they have begun to leak pus like fluid, when I first did it they put silverdine cream on them but it made it hurt worse althou i did it about once per day now I have been off work for the holidays and I do have vitamin e so I will try this, should i cover them in gauze? I keep hitting my ring finger on everything is why I ask and it's this finger that hurts the worst. I hate to say this, but I think I’d

be tempted to go to the ER if it’s that bad. 8-(

If you can get away without bandaging do. Here is a link that may give you some more ifo http://www.vitamins.com/vf/healthnotes/HN75_English/Concern/Burns.htm Jina <dapples57@...> wrote: I am working at a cleaners and the presses put out about 400 degree steam this is where i got the burn, it was all I could do to keep from crying it hurt so bad, it's on my left hand and while my knuckles are ok the burns on my fingers are not, they have begun to leak pus like fluid, when I first did it they put silverdine cream on them but it made it hurt worse althou i did it about once per day now I have been off work for the holidays and I do have vitamin e so I will try this, should i cover them in gauze? Jina, there is a treated gauze-like material in the sports section of many big stores. It is tennis racket handle tape. It will stick to itself, but not stick to anything else. It will flex a little and breathe. I have used it and it will stay on for at least 2 days without coming off.

You could treat your hand then wrap with this tape every day. If you wrap a finger, make sure you wrap above a knuckle so it won't just slide right off.

Also if you go to a feed store or a farm supply store, there is a product called Vet Wrap. It also sticks to itself only, but is more flexible than gauze. More like a light Ace bandage that is self sticking. Hospitals are now using it. When DH cut his hand badly enough to need 10 stitches, we poured disinfectant on the hand, wrapped in bright orange CoFlex (same as Vet Wrap) and went to the Drs. They were amazed he used this stuff and asked where he got it. The bright orange was pretty bright, but it worked wonderfully and is a lot cheaper than from a drug store. It comes in many colors, so you can match your outfit or go with tan for camouflage.

Having seen what the honey/wheat germ oil/ comfrey will do, I would use that, myself. It not only heals fast, it disinfects too and is anesthetizing.

True, Gayla. It just didn’t sound

like Jina had access to any of that. And I’m thinking time is of the

essence in this case. (And I’m usually the very LAST person to recommend

the ER – I still have my bracelets taped to my desk from my bout with

them Thanksgiving before last…they mean to me – NEVER AGAIN!)

That’s why I keep 100% cold pressed

aloe vera gel in the kitchen, every bathroom, and my traveling first aid kit. (Not

to mention, having the plant growing all around the yard.) If I burn myself,

that’s the very first thing I put on it.

When I stuck my finger in my Champion juicer (DON"T ASK!) I put raw honey and golden seal on it. Healed better than the ER doc ever expected it would. He thought I would lose half the end of my finger and I did not. It is not even disfigured.

I just made a paste and put it on with a light bandage covering. After a day I just put it on and walked around with no bandage and it seemed to just stay put on the raw "meat".

Golden seal was available at my co-op.

You bring back memories! When I cut my finger in my blender (me too - don't ask!) as I was blending up comfrey leaves for a crushed leg, I obviously got comfrey juice in it. The next day it looked like a week old cut. It had been cut to the bone.

Jina, is there blistering? A 3rd

degree burn is a full-thickness burn which affects all the layers of the skin

and usually tissue underneath. 2nd degree is a blistered whitish

colored burn. 1st degree is extremely red in color and very

painful. If it is a 1st or minor 2nd degree burn I think

aloe vera leaf gel (fresh if you can get it) is a good idea. You’d also

want to keep the area clean and dry with sterile bandages. If it is a 3rd

degree burn then you’d need better care than advice can give.

Jina, I should have read ahead here. This

sounds like a bad partial thickness burn. You are going to need some medical

help with it. You can definitely use natural remedies to help heal as well,

but I would say not directly on a burn this bad right now. Get some help and

yes they will need to do some bandaging.
