Guest guest
chromium picolinate damages dna and can cause mania and should not be used gtf forms are much better. gtf chromium yeast i find ok. also you may find 200 mcg a bit much. however it may be well absorbed, but i don't think its use is sustainable, at least you know that chromium does something for you. > I began taking a small amount of Solaray chromium polynicotinate > niacin-bound chromium about five days ago (about half of the 200 mcg > capsule/day split with two meals.) Guest guest
Thank you . I'm sorry what is gtf form of chromium? Is the chromium polynicotinate form I've got gtf? If use is not sustainable, how will I know when to stop, is there a time frame? I wasn't clear in my first post, the capsules are 200mcg but I am only taking half that, 100mcg/day and split this over two meals. Thanks, Kathy IN Re: chromium > chromium picolinate damages dna and can cause mania and should not be > used > > gtf forms are much better. gtf chromium yeast i find ok. also you may > find 200 mcg a bit much. > > however it may be well absorbed, but i don't think its use is > sustainable, at least you know that chromium does something for you. > > > > I began taking a small amount of Solaray chromium polynicotinate > > niacin-bound chromium about five days ago (about half of the 200 mcg > > capsule/day split with two meals.) Guest guest
you may not need to take chromium more than once a day or even once very several days. gtf mean glucose tolerance factor which is supposedly a form more natured to the bodys blood sugar needs this can be chromium feed yeast which i have tried and seems ok or there are other more synthetic forms i think its worth experimenting a bit i think, 100 mcg a day sounds ok but longer term may need to be reduced. i am not so sure the yeast form is that sutiable long term cuase of the tendency for yeast corpses to be exactly the nutrients that yeast in the stomach like. just had a bottle of solaray chromium gtf yeast arrive 200 mcg, will post when i gte an idea of how well it is working. > > > I began taking a small amount of Solaray chromium polynicotinate > > > niacin-bound chromium about five days ago (about half of the 200 mcg > > > capsule/day split with two meals.) Guest guest
Thanks , I will watch for your chromium post. When I was researching for my metals page, I learned that there are several different types of chromium, some are not good. You might want to check the links I have included here http://www.danasview.net/metals.htm > The niacin component in this product is 2 mg/capsule. Check the total niacin you take each day. I recently met someone with sensory neuropathy caused by niacin toxicity. Dana
Guest guest
Thanks Dana, I read your metals page. The chromium supp I have isn't labeled with the roman numerals (such as the VI, III you mention) so I guess I have some further checking out to do. Any info on this would be great. I did not see anything in the archives. Thanks, Ali >> I just read in a medical magazine last month that in scientific tests Chromium has NOT shown any benefits in weight loss. In tests with mice it actually showed that it can damage DNA strands in the doses it has been used for weight loss. I was on it for years (with no benefit) in my early 20's, so of course reading this scared the crap out of me! The things we do to our bodies to be skinny amaze me... Hope you are well! Guest guest
It sounds like the one you recieved has a picoliniate ending. These kids don't do well with supplements with picoliniate endings. I once tried a Zinc picoliniate formula for the boys, and they were unable to go to sleep at night. It was obvious they couldn't tolerate it. I, too, am interested in the chromium. My kids showed low blood sugar in their blood tests, and they seem to have blood sugar issues. I am hoping some of this is yeast.
