Guest guest
It's been a very busy week here and I apologize for not keeping up with the posts a bit better, but rest assured you are all thought of often and I do read and keep up with what's happening even if I don't have time to post. I'd like to take just a moment to wish everyone a holiday filled with Love and Laughter in your homes, and a song in your heart no matter how you celebrate the holidays. Wishing many joyous ci moments for those who are now hearing or have loved ones who are now hearing and to those of you who aren't yet activated, or are in the process of getting a ci,and those still contemplating I hope the sights of the season are filling you with a renewed hope that you can and will hear. Alice, extra special wishes are extended your way for all you do to keep this forum the wonderful place it is in spite of other health issues of your own. I don't know how you do it except for saying that you are a very special lady who gives more than 100% of herself in all that you do for others. I could go on for ages here lol, you know how long winded I can be <smiles> but hey.. this lady deserves more than what I can write here so I want to remember my first hearing Christmas in many years which took place 2 years ago. For the first time in my life, I heard my then 4 yr old grandson singing those sweet Christmas carols, mistaking some of the words in only the way a youngster can. (well ok.. the hearing impaired can mess up the words too. LOL) Such a sweet voice full of excitement of the season; it was one of the most perfect Christmases I had ever celebrated thanks to the miracle of my ci. Many people ask me if I was mad at my mother for passing on the deafness to me and my sisters (we have hereditary nerve deafness) and I can say without a qualm a huge resounding NO. I think there was a reason for me being deaf. I think I had to be deaf in order to truly appreciate the hearing world. Before I began losing my hearing, I went about at a rather hurried pace sometimes, but by the time I lost my hearing it was too late to slow down and enjoy all the sounds associated with the holidays. These days, since being given the ability to hear once again, I stop, look, and listen, literally taking time to smell the roses and even hear the bees buzzing on the bushes (although not too close to those bees) <G> Now, a little over 2 years later, I am hearing better than ever. a truly fitting miracle of the season. Now my friends, my Holiday wish to all of you is that you will have the same wonderful success that I've had with my ci so that you may be able to really hear the sounds of the season for many years to come. With that said, Everyone enjoy this special time of the year and stay safe, healthy, and happy. SEASONS GREETINGS TO ALL!
