With no one here living near you, poor cell service you mentioned, hubby not into our calls, neighbor can't type but with one finger do you have a solution to seeing how you are dong from HAWKville? I do! Ask your one neighbor if we can call her! We are getting desperate and running out of answers unless others come to the rescue. I know this will be the highlight of Gloria's day in trying to offer some other options. Right now she is wrapped up with washing, cuts, and dying customers. Oh, I do call when rates are usually down. Maybe her phone never rings so we would be the "life of her party day." What do you think about that? Is she elderly? Alone? Shut in? Just a curious mind. Guest guest
Not me, my kids’ godfather. When they went to fix the discs they found lots of bone splinters around the spine. They ended up having to take him to surgery twice in two days time. This is rare and even he got out of the halo in short order, before he was even able to complain about it really. Janet From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of Pearlmoon Sent: Saturday, December 30, 2006 9:25 PM health Subject: Re: Re: Suzi's upcoming hospital visit A " halo " ?! No way. I had the same surgery and they never really use halos for this kind of surgery. Usually now days they only use them for a broken or fractured cervical spine. Not really for this kind of surgery anymore. I had the fusion, rods and screws and a cage set in my neck and only had to wear a hard brace for about three months, then a soft one for another month or two. But never a halo. I don't know of any hospital in the country that uses them for this type of surgery anymore. My goodness, I can't even imagine those screws in my skull. LOL!! No Suzie, I'm sure it will just be a hard brace for a while. Janet, did you have a discectomy with a halo brace after? In 25 years as a nurse I have never heard of such a thing. I hope that didn't happen to you hun. I hope you never had to go through that. Lynn Janet Hamilton <dragonhealingcomcast (DOT) net> wrote: Suzi, don’t worry they will probably have you in a halo brace, then a rigid brace for a while after surgery. You won’t be able to move your head much at all regardless of the laughing ;-) After most of my abdominal surgeries I would hold my belly and laugh more through my chest if you can imagine. I probably sounded a bit like Donkey on Shrek LOL. Janet
