Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I think that Atkins protein drinks are low in carbs but are quite pricey. Look at some of the ones they have at Walmart. I think there is one called EAS that might be low in carbs too. It doesn't taste as good to me as Atkins but that's just me. I didn't drink many protein drinks during liver shrinkage but just tried some of the different ones to see how they would work later. Mostly just ate chicken, fish and salads. I also ate yogurt and cottage cheese as I remember. Anyway I started a month ahead and didn't really get serious until the last two weeks and lost 10 lbs. according to the scale at the hospital. Good luck and have fun on the liver shrinking diet! Your journey has begun!!!! Guest guest
Tammy, I like Carb Solution shake mix. It has 3 net carbs per shake. It mixes easily in my shaker from Curves and I like the taste and texture. The shake thickens and is smooth and creamy. Just because I like them doesn't mean anyone else will (hey, I like liver). I order it from DrugStore.com and gets delivered right to my door. I have tried several other brands but Carb Solutions is my favorite. I have both chocolate and vanilla so I can have some variety. I use shakes for breakfast every day except sometimes on weekends and since my second fill is kicking me all over the map I rely on shakes often. gloria DOB 12/21/05 221/195/140 > > Hello All, > > I was wondering if anyone knows of a good protein drink low in carbs? > I had bought slim fast but they are really high in carbs. Guest guest
Tammy and All. I tried the Met Rx Pure Protein (chocolate) this morning. I used cold water from the fridge. It calls for 3 scoops per 12-16 oz of water. I went with 2 scoops in 8 oz. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't rich chocolate either. I think I would like it better with ice - a frappe drink. I also considered mixing it with my flavored water. It's your basic bottled water with fruit flavor and no calories or carbs. Might perk it up. I'll report back if that helps it. I think I would really like it better with milk instead of water and a couple of scoops of chocolate ice cream and a banana. Ya think???? Guest guest
Thanks, Liz. Sounds just yummy - but I know it's necessary! Guess I'd better get some Isopure before I leave for Mexico. Guest guest
I found Isopure Mango flavor to be my favorite. For the first 2 weeks I only mixed it with water. I would put my 42 oz bottle in the freezer laying at an angle. I would have about of cup of water in it. (I actually have 2 bottles) When the water is frozen I take it out put some water in it along with my 2 scoops of protein (50 g of protein, no carbs, low in sodium, high in potassium)...put the lid on and shake the bottle well. I would add my 2 tbl of liquid vitamins and my vit c packet. This is how I would start my day. Now I still start my day with this drink...it is about 260 cal total. If I get hungary later, I make a "New Whey" drink (25 g of protein). Some times I have other liquids... I am averaging about 650 cal a day. I also mixed some juice with them to change up the taste. I am still drinking them though because I have 2 cases left. UGHHH. Just relax time will fly. Guest guest
Well, I really like the designer whey vanilla powder (Trader Joe's) with skim milk. Sometimes, I add splenda, ice, and cinnamon. . . I don't mind the new whey bullets (GNC)either, even though they're pretty sweet and syrupy. They're kind of spendy, but I deserve it. : ) Teta007 <teta007@...> wrote: Can anyone tell me the brand of any GOOD TASTING protein drinks? The ones I have tried in the past are horrible. Thanks.
