Guest guest
Hi, I think that this is not a truly recognized " syndrome " per se, but rather a common experience that someone has labelled. As someone who has been motherless I find it both validating and somewhat depressing at the same time, that this label has been given. :-) I think that EFT and other energy work approaches will go a long way in healing this though it would be important to do a lot of installing of positives (including imaginal nurturing states) along with the clearing of unwanted " stuff " . Kath and All, Having grown up in an orphanage since I was 3 years old with over 175 other kids, I never heard of this syndrome. It could very well be another label that someone came up with to justify ______ (fill in with your choice). When I read the post I thought it was a joke. If there were such a syndrome it would defiantly not be chemical so it would be emotional and what does the " E " in EFT stand for? The thought of a motherless child syndrome would require two things I can think of off the top of my head. 1. NO female influence whatsoever. 2. Understanding of the meaning of the word " mother " and the definition of what a mother does. Without theses two things available to a child there would be way the syndrome could come about. It is not genetic as most syndromes are. Utilize Everything, Dr. Houston (Doc Results) Vetter http://www.achieve-your-potential.com P.S. IF YOU DO ANY HEALING OR COUNSELING AS PART OF YOUR BUSINESS. Guest guest
Hi Connie... Thanks for replying...I saw it on one of the EFT sites or tapping sites....darn if I can find the symptoms listed....Well, hopefully, someone else has seen them, and will respond. I understand where you are coming from. While my Mom was home, I raised my brother and sister, and ran the house, as she needed to return to work. Guest guest
I remember seeing this also, but it was called " Missing Mother Syndrome " . Talk about timing... I came across a missingmother website just the other day while searching for something related to Aspects - and now the topic appears on this board. My mother died when I was 18 months old, so I read this site with interest. All of the symptoms fit me to a T, except one (I don't hate my body ) I believe every one of them are " tap-able " . Lara These are the " symptoms " listed on the missingmother website: **** You could suffer from " Missing Mother Syndrome " if you experience most of the following conditions on a regular basis: You feel lost, out of place, and unsafe in this world There is an underlying sadness in your life, even if nothing is wrong You tend to feel lonely and depressed, especially at other people's " Happy Family " gatherings You hate your body or are unsure about " being a woman " You have abandonment or anger issues that hurt your relationships You experience social stress - you either try to stay invisible, or you have a compulsion to be in the limelight Any major crisis in your life, like a divorce, job loss, or bereavement, throws you right back into the painful past There is a lot of fear, anxiety, or even guilt and shame in your life You feel homesick without knowing where " home " is You are trying too hard to be happy and " perfect " You take rejection very personally You believe that everybody else gets their act together - except for you

Guest guest
Hello All, This is the original post. It was sent or set as a hook with a worm on it to see what it could catch. Post- #12262 From: " Carna Zacharias- " <carna@...> Date: Fri Apr 8, 2005 1:55 pm Subject: Are you a " Motherless Daughter " ? Hello, Was your mother absent in your early life due to illness, death, or emotional unavailability? This is a new EFT specialty web site for women who suffer from " Missing Mother Syndrome " www.missingmother.com End of original post.... The author of the post is also the marketer of the product and as all good marketers do she has created a hook and her hook is " Missing Mother Syndrome " . Unfortunately or fortunately (it depends on how you look at it) the author is attempting to sell one half of the human race. It seems from what the website says only women suffer from this " Missing Mother Syndrome " . So myself growing up in an orphanage (without a mother) since the age of 3 do not qualify, as I am male. I must give Ms. Zacharias- credit. She has come up with a very good hook " Missing Mother Syndrome " . From a marketing POV I wish I'd have come up with it and yet I would have included the men also. The interesting thing is all of the possible symptoms listed below could also apply for: Missing Father Syndrome Mad Mother Syndrome Mad Father Syndrome Present Mother Syndrome Present Father Syndrome Missing Grandmother (Grandfather) Syndrome Wrong Gender Syndrome Wrong Ethic Syndrome In other words all the symptoms listed below are all symptoms of LOW-SELF ESTEEM. The wonderful thing about marketing is " strike a cord to create a market. " Ms Zacharias- has done that by giving Low-Self Esteem a new coat of paint. Congratulations Ms. Zacharias- Utilize Everything, Dr. Houston (Doc Results) Vetter http://www.achieve-your-potential.com P.S. Guest guest
Hi Doc I kinda realized this when I approved it for the list. I figured, what the heck - there are " so " many different so- called " hooks " as you can call them, that what's one more . There are people " hired " to create hooks for people. I used to work for a guy who made up catchy names for different pharmaceutical products. Personally, I think one of the most catching ones is that of " depression " . This one has led more people to drugs than just about any other. At least " missing mother syndrome " isn't an advocate for the use of drugs. I let it on also because it said it was EFT related. However, really anything that sells today in a big way has to have some kind of a hook to it. Even EFT has a hook to it. Just the mere fact that it handles many people's " phobias " and such is a hook. Hooks aren't bad if they are mainly benign. Its the ones that seem to " con " you into some unhealthy areas or addictive areas. However, now that she's started the " motherless syndrome " you are now free to start the " fatherless syndrom " - lol!! You now have your own hook! I'm not about to do the " childless syndrome " but if someone out there wants to do that - well, there ya go! And it will " all " be EFT based - how's that!
