Guest guest
Dear Christa, When it comes to food addictions, there can be multiple aspects. I was in a class with Carol Look once, and I was the demo, and we were working on salt. The craving did not go away with one session, despite the fact that I was the demo….and she the leading expert on this subject. She herself said that you need to work on all aspects….that it can take several sessions. I’m not sure how long your class was, who taught it, which country it was in, or what it purported to do. Generally workshops are for learning a method, perhaps in this case, EFT. They do not necessarily guarantee that your cravings etc. will disappear within the course of the workshop…unless the instructor specifies that that is what it is for, and guarantees that just by being in his/her workshop, it will do that. Even Carol Look tells her clients they need to work on all the aspects, and when they ask her how long it will take, she says, I don’t know, it depends on what all you need to clear – it could take 5, 6, 7 sessions or maybe one or two. Workshops teach you a method….one that needs to be applied further. Perhaps you can change your viewpoint, and see what you got out of the class. Perhaps it was not for you. Perhaps you already knew what was being taught. Perhaps you misjudged what it could do for you. Sometimes we have to make a call decision on whether to take a class or not…sometimes it is fruitful, sometimes not…but it is still our decision, and still our responsibility for our decision. One can use one’s intuition, one can use one’s own judgment, one’s logic…all the info one has and still make a mistake. Sometimes one makes a mistake, and one can still take the responsibility for that….and use it as an experience to say, next time, if I’m not sure, I might NOT take it. So you need to differentiate between a class in which a method is taught, and one which purports to heal your cravings. One in which you know most of the subject matter already, and one in which you don’t. You need to see also, if your tendency is, in situations where a decision has to be made (especially where the decision is iffy) whether you take responsibility for your decision, or do you want someone else to be responsible for your decision. Children are dependent and need to conform to parents’ decisions. But adults are responsible for their own decisions….made on the best information they have at the time. Adults also live with the consequences of their decisions, and can say, “Oh, well, that was a bad decision,” and learn from it and chalk it up to experience. Many people buy things, and a day later, regret that they did. That’s part of life. That does that mean that the product/service did not do what it was meant to do. I’m muscle-testing, Christa, that this chocolate craving is coming from age 3 (for you). Children, in my S.T.E.P. parenting classes, which I had the pleasure of learning, and then teaching (when my daughter was a toddler onwards) – children do what they do – (any misbehavior) for 4 reasons: The first is attention. The second is power (when they can’t get their need for attention met) The third is Revenge (when they can’t get their need for power met) The fourth is Apathy (when they can’t get their need for Revenge met). It may support you to check: Which need were you meeting, or unable to meet, at age 3? Do you still have that need? What was happening for you at that time. If your pattern stems from childhood, was there a time when you wanted someone else to be responsible? Was there a time when someone let you down? Was there a time when your expectations were not met? How did you deal with that? What decision did you make at that time…that is still running your life today? If I remember correctly, you have often mentioned that this is a forum of almost 3000 people, and wondered why you were not getting answers to your questions??? Then you have had a lot of attention from many people on the forum, in response. Finally you get your needs met….or do you? I do not know. My questions is: Do you get your needs met, by calling attention to what is wrong in a situation….and making it the other person’s responsibility (In the above case, this forum’s responsibility) for not having met your need? Gall bladder has the function of being in balance when you feel you make good decisions….and being out of balance when you feel you cannot make good decisions. That is the side-of-the-eye acupoint. Triple warmer (pituitary, adrenals, and thyroid) has the function of being in balance when “Everything works out right for me.” And out of balance when “Nothing works out right for me.” That is the 9-gamut acupoint on the back of the hand, just above the nook of where the baby finger and little finger meet. When that is out of balance, then fight-or-flight response goes into gear. Which of these responses are your habitual responses to life situations? Perhaps it may help to tap on this….and the root cause of this. So take a good look, and see what else is behind this. There may be multiple aspects for you to work on - that one single workshop may not have had the time or space to heal for you. You can continue working on various aspects on your own. It might also help to work on cravings that may not be your worst craving first….things that you crave less than chocolate. Smaller victories will help you have more confidence in the method. There is a balancing meridians emotionally exercise that may support you – it covers the positive and negative of each meridian. It is in the PIVOT MANUAL. (If anyone would like a copy, write to me. I’ll send it to you. It is too big to be downloaded from the files section. 3MB. ) Often, in addition to the emotional cause of the craving, often clients have parasites or candida (yeast) which can cause cravings. As I am a Kalos Health Facilitator and kinesiologist, and a licensed naturopath in Canada, I find that these are very often eliminated or diminished when I get them to do a jolly good cleanse. Thirdly, we are often drawn to each those very goods that we are sensitive to or allergic to. Using allergy antidotes, it can be muscle-tested if you are allergic or sensitive to this, and healing that sensitivity might help you heal your craving. I do all of this work with clients on the phone. If I can support you further on the phone, let me know. So, Christa, I hope this has given you some insights. Let me know if you found it helpful. Guest guest
Dayu, Thanks for the Pivot Manual and intro PPS doc... I scanned through it and it looks like good information to supplement my EFT knowledge. Thanks so much. This should re-energize my efforts. Also, your reply to Christa was an excellent read, helping me stay focused in a positive direction. I appreciate the time you've invested in this (and other) groups. Good Job! Guest guest
Hi Christa, Not to completely dispel what the teacher had to say about the energy in the room being very positive, but you yourself just mentioned that you are very sensitive to other's energy, therefore there could have very well been something that was negative within an individual or an energy vampire or 2 among the group and if you truly are sensitive to this it may have affected you? The other being your own energy and/or toxic elements ... this having been said it's really just to give the teacher/class the benefit of the doubt since I wasn't there to experience it for myself. The truth of the matter is you didn't get want you wanted, needed or expected and for that I'm truly sorry. Since we can't change that, lets focus on something else. What in particular were you going there to resolve or learn? An issue or challenge or to experience the group setting or to learn more about the technique and application? Also, you mention that you've been applying EFT for several months now, are you chopping down the emotional forest or working on a particular something ??? Guest guest
Dayu, Thank you for the excellent all encompassing letter to Christa, especially about childhood and falling back into problems and "shadows", it was timely for me, for different reasons, but........still timely. Guest guest
Christa, A few possibilities... When you determine an issue you want to work on (i.e. depression, anger, frustration, etc.) and you have a " specific " incident. (i.e. When _____ did ______ and I felt _____ last Wednesday evening). Find where you feel the third blank (I felt ____) in your body and stay focused on that feeling as you tap or touch and breath. (see what number you can it down to, I felt ____ last Wednesday evening is now down to a 3 or 2) Go inside and feel if there is any opposition to you getting rid of this _____ feeling. If there is find where you feel the opposition and repeat the process on it. (You don't need to know what the opposition is or why it is there you only need to be able to feel it in your body.) After it is removed or very, very low Go into your past to the first time you ever felt this _____ feeling or something close. (Pretend this whole thing if it helps you. Make it up if you want. Just find the first time you can remember, create or imagine having this _____ feeling. Feel the location in your body, measure it and do the process focused on the body feeling of ______ Come back to the present and go inside your body and feel if you feel this will be an issue in the future. If you do, find the feeling in your body and apply the process. Next feel if forgiveness is needed. Find where you feel that in your body and repeat the process. Next pretend you are the other person and not you and do the process from their POV. Next pretend you are the _____ feeling and do the process from _____ feeling POV. Next be your self again and notice what's up. If this doesn't get you moving then I would suggest you study all of the Deep PEAT articles at http://www.achieve-your-potential.com/peat-articles.html and/or come to the Spiritual Technology training at the end of May. http://www.secretsuccess.com/the-amazing-training.htm To Your Best, Doc Houston At 11:52 PM 2/16/2006, you wrote: Hi Kathleen, thank you for your response. I went to the class to get some different idea to proceed since I don't see the results most people comment on. So I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong or missing something. I didn't expect to be healed of anything right there. And I had explained this to the instructor before I went. I have studied all the CD's and I'm doing the tapping since 10 month on an almost daily basis. So one of my hopes was that the group setting might make a difference since everyone seemed to be always having so much success at the workshops. I guess this thought was wrong and the instructor wasn't much help. I'm getting more ideas from this group. So I will keep working and maybe some day I hit the checkpot. thanks again christa
