Guest guest
My two cents is, I do like sweets. However, when I was filled properly, the only kinds of sweets that would go down easily were Ice cream or chocolate. Both were temptations, but by the time they became temptations, I was over 50 lbs less. When youre fat like I was, eating a candy bar is EASY, what difference is it going to make right? Fifty pounds less, sure helps willpower, let me tell you! You see bones and curves youve never seen before, and want to see more! When Im filled properly, I cant eat cake easily (It gets mushed and stuck), ditto for donuts. Mexican food is a breeze in some cases (refried beans), but in others, a definite no no (flour tortillas get stuck, rice gets stuck). You end up being FORCED to make heathier choices (A plate with beans, meat, and salad, MAYBE a corn tortilla) and then can only eat at most, half a cup of it. I too live in AZ, and am a HOUND for those little corner mexican places. Its your body, you know yourself. But let me tell you, I am in chocolate HEAVEN here in Europe. If anyone is trying to avoid going overboard with chocolate, this is NOT the place to be. I DID initially gain about five pounds of chocolate when I got here. However, after my initial indulgence, I realized that chocolate was NOT worth it, and besides, it gets old, eating it all the time. Now, I continue to eat it if I want it, but in smaller amounts, and I dont buy it every time I see it. Im back down to within 2 lbs of when I got here (I came at 179, Im 180.5 now). Thats just by cutting back on the chocolate, and continuing to eat food how I want and or can. On top of that, my band isnt even filled all the way right now, I had an unfill prior to coming. However, even my somewhat LOOSE band limits my eating, as I still have to chew very very well, avoid certain breads, and eat at a good pace, not wolf food down. I am a fan of Dr Aceves. I believe that he wouldnt perform the bypass if it werent warranted in some cases. Discuss the matter with him and his staff, that would be your best bet. And trust him, if he feels youll lose with the band, you will! Om Hasen (yes, Im still in Denmark, will be back in Glendale mid March) By the way, this goes for anyone, but especially those in AZ. Mid march I will be returning from Denmark. I return the 14th or 15th. I plan to go down very shortly after I return, within days, for a fill and fluoro, to get back to losing the last bit I want to, and to see my band. I have an RV thats not huge, but is much better than a car! Anyone who is interested in going for the ride, be it for a fill, or to meet Dr A and see the place etc, is welcome! Kick in for gas if you like, but its not a must since Im going anyway! Be forewarned, though, that I will have my two toddlers (who are cute, not horribly annoying, and easy to get along with) with me. Depending on who is with me or not, I may or may not stay overnight, either in the RV, or a hotel. Im flexible.
