advice for the new

Time sure flies by!!!!!!!!! I was telling my husband tonight how odd

it seems that I'm not the " newbie " of this group anymore. That I am

one of the many that is on the " loosing side " . It doesn't seem that

long ago that my daughter called and told me that she wanted to go to

Mexico and have LapBand surgery and I told her she was out of her mind

and that there was no way I would ever approve of it!!!!!!!! Three

months later, we have both gone to Mexico, together, and had our life

changing surgeries. I would not go back for love nor money!!!!!! It

was the wisest decision that I have ever made.

I know that several of you are researching your options right now and

I wanted share some of my thoughts. I was researching something that I

thought would not only be dangerous but just plain stupid for my

daughter to do. I was scared for her and was going to stop at nothing

until I could make her realize how foolish she was being by wanting to

have LapBand. This has turned out to be such a wonderful thing for

both of us. We have both struggled our entire lives with obesity and

now look forward to a life that we had only dreamed of before.

Going to Mexico and having Dr. Aceves do the procedure was possibly

one of the most positive things we did. The hospital is spotless, the

staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable. Everyone went out of their

way to answer questions and to take care of our needs. I asked my

doctor to please check out Dr. Aceves through medical channels and she

was unable to find anything wrong. She said his creditials were

impectable and that the hospital had an excellent reputation. For a

doctor in the states to say that was remarkable in it's self.

I can honestly say, after doing hours of research that you will not go

wrong, (if your serious and follow the rules), by having the lapband

surgery or by going to Dr. Aceves. I think if you did a poll, everyone

in this group would agree with me.
