Guest guest
Hi . How old is your daughter? My recommendations are for like 4 and up... (except for the garlic as a suppository) and/or tell us not only age but what you have on hand... is she currently taking anything? First, if it were me, I would be gargling and taking super tonic every several hours (nature's antibiotic) or at least 3-4 times a day then I would probably be taking a crushed clove of garlic several times a day.. or take one, slice it longways, coat in olive oil, and insert like a suppository up the rectum... will get into the body faster this way. then, I would probably be doing one of these two... depending on what I had on hand in herbs. A sage or thyme tea would even be helpful with some lemon and honey. Lemon Cayenne Throat Soother:Mix 1 tsp honey with 1 tsp lemon juice and dash of cayenne pepper. Take likecough syrup. This does not prevent cough, but does relieve throat pain in twoways. First, the honey and lemon coat the throat. Second, the cayenne pepperbrings blood cells needed to fight off infection to the throat area.--------------Whooping Cough: (good for other throat coughs)Ingredients: 1 part Horehound 2 parts Buchers broom 1 part Sundew 1 part Coltsfoot 1 part ThymeMix all ingredients together well. Use 1-2 teaspoons of the mix to 1 cup boiling water. Steep 10 minutes. To sweeten I would use honey. There are more cough/throat remedies in the files under Natural Health Remedies which I would suggest checking... <holtpartyof9@...> wrote: What herbs can I use for Strep Throat? My dd’s little lips are swollen and she has cancer sores all in her gums along with it. Any ideas? Thanks! Love, Suzi What is a weed? Guest guest
Also, fresh lemon juice in pure water to drink. Just be careful with this suggestion. When I was little I had canker sores in my mouth and the doctor told my mother to have me rinse with water and lemon juice. I did it and about hit the ceiling with the pain from the acid. Make sure you test it (a few drops) and see how she reacts. If it were me, I'd try rinsing with grapefruitseed extract which is alkaline. GrapeFRUITseed, not grape seed. Excellent stuff for any mouth infections. It's very bitter and tastes terrible, but it works really well. You could use a Q-tip and just paint some on the gum sores. Guest guest
Oh...and if you try the grapefruitseed extract...ALWAYS dilute in water. Never use straight. About 8 drops to half a glass of water. Gloria
Guest guest
A gargle of warm salt water, or a gargle of sage tea should help a lot. Also, fresh lemon juice in pure water to drink. If she is not hungry do not feed her. Allow her body heal itself, hunger will return normally. Make certain she remains as quiet as possible. This saves nerve energy that can be used to help the cleansing process and healing. Don Quai wrote: > > What herbs can I use for Strep Throat? Guest guest
Logged in to See if anyone found , see that they did - welcome back! Regarding Strep - ditto what Don said...plus When my G-son gets it and he gets it bad (pus pockets within a day or two of flare up), I dose him with the Salt gargle several times a day as well as several tooth brushings to make sure the mouth also stays super clean, Cayenne lemonade, and SUper Tonic 3 times a day. He's 12 though, not sure what age your dd is. Sylvia > > > > What herbs can I use for Strep Throat? Guest guest
is it possible it is coxsackie virus, also called hand, foot and mouth disease? Little ones usually pick it up from playmates and it causes the sores you describe in throat and mouth. Sometimes sores will appear on the feet and hands as well. Very painful too, but not a bacterial infection like strep. If I'm right, it should go away in a few days on its own. Either way, Don is right on the money (as usual) in that warm salt water will help a lot. Don't use that nasty iodized stuff though, good clean sea salt is OK. Sometimes kids can get a bit dehydrated with this virus, so encourage her to at least sip clean water until she feels better.
