I know WLS was not an easy way out......I'm not ashamed of my decision....and I

am indeed proud of how far I've come. I just don't need is plastered to

everyone and their brother that I know. It's a personal choice. I'm sure you

don't discuss ALL of your medical needs or issues with everyone you know. I'm

sure you pick and choose who you'd like to discuss that with. I have NO PROBLEM

discussing it with a complete stranger (or a friend for that matter) if I think

it could benefit them or if they could learn something and educate

themselves.....however....all I was saying is that I (NONE of us do) need to be

outed to an entire online community of friends, family, coworkers with a few

strokes of someone ELSES keyboard....unless WE choose to be. It's a matter of

common courtesy and being respectful....not rude. What person wrote was

ignorant and rude.

Jen,

Please understand that there is no shame in WLS. It's certainly not an easy

way out, it's a tool that has changed your life for the better. MGB did for

me what I couldn't do any other way and that is to be healthy and happy. And

furthermore, I'm convinced that MGB is a FAR superior surgery to whatever else

is out there as I bump into the RNY folks who are experiencing all kinds of

problems, the greatest one being regaining weight very easily.

You have every reason to be proud of what you did to take control of your

life and health!
