Liver Detox Tea - FormulaAdapted from The Tao of Detox, by Reid (Inner Traditions, 2006). Simple SolutionIf you sometimes overindulge during the holidays, this tea formula can help to detoxify a sluggish system, improving circulation of blood and energy to the liver. INGREDIENTS 10 g dandelion root10 g burdock root5 g fennel5 g ginger5 g milk thistle2 g mugwort 1. Mix the dried herbs with 1 1/3 quarts of pure water and bring to a boil in a non-aluminum cooking pot. Simmer slowly for about 20 minutes, then remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. 2. Strain into a bottle and take 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of warm tea, 3 times per day. 3. Extra tea may be kept fresh in the refrigerator, but each dose should be warmed up before drinking. I am supposing that the g in the measurements for the detox tea stands

for grams. And when I tried to figure out how to convert 10 grams, I

came up with this:

1 gram = .032 ounces

This must mean that ten grams = .32 ounces. Short of using a scale,

which I don't have, I have no idea how to measure this. Any suggestions?

You don't have to go with grams, TerriLynne. I would just use the gram as a

" part " and make sure the quantities of the parts correspond to the recipe.

Maybe substitute 1/4 ounce for a gram, or some such thing.

I thought about doing that, but a specific amount of water is specified,

so for me, that makes it more tricky. Also, I have no way of measuring

1/4 ounce. I would be more likely to use a teaspoon or two.

Perhaps, this is just a recipe which I will be unable to adapt.
