I'll give the link and credit via link to the author for Carmel Apples and/or sauce. Here's post and comments: "i make caramel for apples all the time!blend FRESH or SOAKED dates with a little water, a little coco oil, a little honey, and some SEA SALT. The salt is probably the most important part to make it taste like real caramel...i just dip apple slices in this! delish!" == http://www.rawfood.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000916 It's Nature's First Law forum site. Thanks to Just. == One more with credit found at the same address: i think caramel is brown sugar and corn syrup?i got this recipe off of alissa's site:1 cup dates (pitted and unsoaked)1/4 cup almond milk1 dash sea salt1 tsp vanilla extract, or 1 inch vanilla bean scraped1 T raw honeyMix all ingreients in a food processor until smooth and well blended.to make caramels, place in an oiled (coconut oil or olive oil) shallow pan, and dehydrate until firm, aproximately 24 hours, cut into cubes and freeze for future use or wrap around an apple. Take out a few at a time to munch on.For an icecream topping, simply add more almond milk until desired consistancy and pour onto banana ice cream. Top with chopped pecans and dehydrated cherries for a truly decadant dessert.[

Shari, I'm not a carmel person, so just passed along from a group what others bragged about.SV <shavig@...> wrote: Thanks, Carol but I've tried this one. Go ahead, try it and THEN tell me it tastes like carmel! I have made this recipe and it tastes like dates to me. Shari
