Guest guest
Window-Cleaning Formula That Really WorksBy Cait , It’s time to take out the window screens and pull down the storm windows and, ewwww: you can barely see out of mine, they’re so dirty. But there is a formula of Annie’s that will get them sparkling clean again--and it comes with an important story. Vinegar and water aren’t enough to clean windows, but Annie knows the missing ingredient to make streak-free window cleaner. Get the formula here, and read the story: On Earth Day 1990, when many newspapers said that all you need to clean windows was vinegar and water, thousands of people gave up on green cleaning because of the streaks that formula left behind. The wax buildup left by years of using commercial window-cleaning products was the real culprit, and vinegar and water just weren’t enough to beat it. Annie knew the answer: there was an important ingredient missing. Now we can rewrite history and spread the good news that green cleaning formulas work! A dab of liquid dish soap makes all the difference. Here’s the formula: INGREDIENTS 1/4 cup vinegar1/2 teaspoon liquid soap or detergent2 cups of water 1. Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake to blend. 2. Spritz on dirty windows, then wipe off with a cloth. Helpful HintsMany people swear by the newspaper trick: just dry your clean windows with newspaper to repel dirt and dust and leave a nice shine. Suzi What is a weed?
