Scale Victory

Hi, gang! I have to share with you all that today is a red letter day for me. This morning the scale showed that I've lost exactly 50# since January 19 - I've achieved my first mini-goal. I wanted to lose 50 by June 23 when I have a get-away in Tahoe with a gang of friends from college (a hundred years ago). And I've made it, with almost 2 weeks to spare! Yippee! I was so excited this morning that I had to weigh myeslf twice to make sure it wasn't a freak event. Another happy thing was my jeans. Back in March I bought a pair of Liz Claiborne sz 22 jeans for $3 at a thrift store. They didn't zip at the time but I thought they'd be incentive, or I could squander 3 bucks if they never fit. So about 3 weeks ago I tried them on and could zip them, even wore them to work one day, but they were too tight for comfort. This morning, after my successful weigh in, I put them on and wore them to work -and they are fitting perfectly. It just seems too good to be true. I'm feeling what I think is perfect restriction (at 3.0cc after 2nd fill) and it's a wonderful thing. I'm a happy bandster.I just want to throw in my 2 cents worth about protein drinks -- and this is aimed at bandsters, not RNYs -- why do you need them? I understand in the first few weeks after surgery during liquid stage, but when you're on solids, you should be getting your protein and other nutrients from solid foods; that's how the band is designed to work.Anyway, onward and upward (er, that should be 'downward')!Jackie Sbanded 1/19/05320/270/160

Hi Jackie!! Congrats on the 50lbs loss!! WOO HOO!! I hope you have fun in

Tahoe. Yes you and Belinda are correct about only needing the protein drinks

while you are healing and not on solids (also after fills while back on

liquids!). Some also still drink one in the morning because of the band

being tight in the AM.

I am still on clear liquids (had a fill yesterday, now up to 2.5) and I have

to say this fill might be a good one. I am not hungry AT ALL. I have to

force myself to drink the 1 cup of broth at meals. I am going for the 800

calories but it aint happening while on clear liquids. Tomorrow I will add

CIB and cream soups.

Back to Jackie, I didn't think of this before but I just gave away a BUNCH

of clothes because I am now in a size 20. We should start our own clothing

exchange on here!!

DOesn't it feel great? I am really pumped right now; my second fill

is doing the trick perfectly, I think. This a.m. I was down 3 more

pounds- of course, I don't 'trust' that number until I see it several

days in a row (LOL).

Thanks, all, for your good wishes.

Loving my band,

Jackie

Jackie, I know what you mean about trusting the number. I had actually hit

my 50lbs loss a few days earlier but like you, I make sure it sticks before

I open my big mouth LOL.

Congratulations Jackie!

By the way - I LOVE Liz Claiborne clothes. They fit so beautifully! I am

thrilled that I am down to a 14 in Liz's things, which means I don't have

to shop in her plus section any more! Whoo Hoo!
