I'm rather new at it and EFT has done wonders for me already You can start by reading this forum and going to http://www.emofree.com/ Read there and look around, download the EFT manual, it's FREE, and begin reading it. Talking to people who had success with this method, could help me with my hopes..I am tired of all the negative feelings of my past..I cannot even focuse on another relationship, because my heart is so hurt...and i think i deserve to try being with someone again..but first i need to heal myself.. First rate the truth of the first part of these statements from 1-10 with 10 being completely true as far as you see it. Then tap until the number gets to one or zero. This may take ten minutes or ten days. Don't stop tapping until the numbers get to zero. Don't stop at three or four, go to zero. Remember that he is a jerk, you don't need him, you don't want him, and you and the child will be better off without him. Keep telling yourself that you are ok now and you will continue to be ok. Guest guest Posted May 2, 2006 Report Share Posted May 2, 2006 Hi Endora :-) Good to hear you have already started the manual. Remember ... don't skip around. Go from the front to the back. It's written to be followed just as it's written. You have had this HURT for a while so don't skip ahead to get started fast. Learn to do it RIGHT so it will work for you. What I did so far. The first thing I did was eliminate my wife's snake phobia. Then I went to things (people) that just stay up front in my mind bothering me and I EFT forgiving THEM and then I did forgiving ME. That action put them away. I have to think of them on purpose to bring them to my mind now. They are NOT just always there bothering me. One person I forgave went so well that I could not remember his name even when I tried. Finally my wife said his mane and then I remembered it. Sometimes I have to do some of the people again as other things come to mind about them or what they did (NEW ASPECTS). I EFT the new aspects and they are gone. I expect this to continue till I have all of them put away or the rest of them just collapses and disappears in my mind. I also accidentally smashed my finger tip with a hammer OUCH. After some not so fine words I remembered EFT. I did three rounds of EFT and the pain was GONE. The finger should have been throbbing for a day or two and keeping me awake at night but it just did not hurt anymore and it did not even bruise (no black nail). It was over .... just like it did not happen. I am now studying 's Cd's to get a better understanding of how it use EFT. The Cd's are GREAT. Now ... what I would do. This is also what I did. I'm no expert and I offer this as if I were going to do it for myself. Take each person that is bothering you and do a round of EFT forgiving them (even if you don't want to) and do a round forgiving yourself and see what happens. You don't need to re-live what happened just do a general forgive statement like this. Even though (name) left me ( or whatever happened) I forgive him.I deeply and completely accept myself. Do it the way the manual says ( repeating the statement three time while rubbing your sore spot). First measure your bad feelings on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being the worst, really bad feelings and hurt. Lets say you feel like an 8, remember that. Do a round of EFT and re-measure your feelings . Did they get lower? YES ... or... NO. Do another round to get them lower and see what you think about while doing it. EFT the things you think about because they are NEW ASPECTS and need to need dealt with. Keep doing this until you have an intensity level of " 0 " . Now the problem is gone and may be gone forever. She means to keep going back to it and tap whenever you can....for as long as that takes to get you to zero. And if it changes....follow the changes and tap on them, too. Then go back yet again to the original thing you are working to get to zero. It helps to keep notes in the beginning. I think that the 'Lashana's lies' part is too global. Work on the underlying emotions and I think you'll see real progress. You said " How do you do the " forgive me " part? " Maybe that's where you should start, the FORGIVE ME PART. Forgive YOURSELF first. Then you can forgive Lashana. " I forgive myself for everything that Lashana did to me. I deeply and completely accept myself. " Do this until you feel a little better. It could happen on the first round. I see by what you write that you are quite angry or hurt or both by what happened. So find your intensity level and TAP, TAP , TAP. Re-check your intensity level and KEEP YOUR MIND ON ONE THING LASHANA DID AT A TIME. If you find your mind wandering to another thing that Lashana did you have probably closed the thing that you started with and are on another aspect without realizing it. Dawn ... it may take a lot of rounds to get started. Don't give up ... keep doing the rounds several times a day ... like 15 if you can fit it in to your life. Always find your intensity level FIRST (1 through10) and see what else comes up as you tap. I feel you are seeing OTHER THINGS come up and relate it to EFT not working for you or you not doing it right. NOT SO ... EFT WORKS. It's working for YOU and because you are new and working alone you don't see it. I don't know so I need to ask. Are you or have you read the manual (part 1)? Are you doing complete rounds? Do you repeat the setup phrase three times as you tap your SORE SPOT? I know you are new to this because you haven't got it working yet. These are only my thoughts. I just realized reading your email that there are at least 2 relationships and ALSO other areas of my life that I have not yet tried EFT on. I guess I was blocking them off until I cleared other things first. Even though I know the shortcuts, I tend to do the full Basic Recipe on each aspect. I've read the manual, Part I and Part II and watched the first 3 videos. I'm so grateful to everyone here for asking questions and creating answers. I have been taking a part of my lunch-time and walking around a park. While I am walking memories come back and I start tapping (1 round per memory aspect). Does anyone else tap while walking? I find the list a very important part of EFT. I not only don't for forget what progress I have made I also have a place to look and see IF any new aspects turn up when I SEE the item I tapped on and thought it was closed or cleared up. Your statement examples are very useful...I'll make a list of all the negative feelings I have toward this guy, and tap on each emotional issue. Is it o.k. to tap on one problem, and when I am done, even if I didn't get a zero level, to move to another issue? I keep my cards with me so that if anyone ever asks what I am doing, I can give them my business card and explain what I am doing, but no one ever has. If you forgive yourself for what happened you will be much more OPEN to forgiving others. If someone slaps you in the face and then say he is sorry will you be able to stop your feelings about that slap right then? I would not. I would carry that slap with me. I am beginning to be concerned that you are looking for a quick way out and not learn the whole system. If you don't learn it all you will be cheating YOURSELF. Now that that is said here is what I do. I do the setup and then tap from eye to under arm. You could also think about tapping and rubbing the spots. If it works for you .... GOOD ... if not go back to physical tapping and rubbing. Craig talks and demonstrates that in one of the DVD I have seen. Have FUN doing it and I'll bet things will work better. Roy PS. Edora .... be sure to keep you mind on the problem while you tap. Think of nothing else. Don't let your mind wander. Stay right on ONE problem ONLY. Be specific with the problem, don't be general with it. By that I mean .. Don't think of " Tom abused me " Think of " Tom hit me in front of my mother " , " then Tom used bad words at me when we were in the restaurant " . I actually meant to finish the round you are in and then if a new strong thought comes up (this is just like when Uncle Jack tickled me at the lake) you can start tapping on that and get those numbers down and return to the original thought or memory or feeling. Don't make this harder than it is, Roy. You are trying to get to the bottom of why you are having these uncomfortable feelings. Anything that points you in that direction is important to explore. When my mother was dying, I was driving two hours back and forth to be with her. The entire four hours I spent tapping. (Karate chop on the steering wheel) I tapped on all my guilt for not being there more, my fear of living in the world without my mother, my anger at the way she mothered me, my sadness at her leaving, her fear of dying (in my mind) and the bother and the horror of it all. Of course, as I was tapping, all kind of thoughts and memories would come to me from my whole life. I went from one to the other. I was crying much of the time. I couldn't keep track of all of the SUDS numbers while I was driving, so I just relied on my feelings and mental pictures. If I was still seeing a particular picture which was disturbing, I would keep tapping until it left. When she died, I was fine with it. I enjoyed the funeral (really) and all the people who had things to tell me about how she touched their lives. Also, when I am at work I go to the bathroom to do the Basic Recipe. In this small manual the basic recipe is nicely explained, but there weren't any of the shortcuts everyone was talking about here on the group. I did the basic recipe, following all the steps as presented also in the full manual. and actually I worked on the forgiving part..that idea truly got me! probably because I was feeling inside that this was the main issue to work on first. I significantly felt better, I had finally a day without too much bad thinking..but I am still not completely over those issues... I am still reading the full version of the manual, and I didn't come to the part with shortcuts..those will be good while driving, walking... About those CDs or DVDs: where these CDs/DVDs can be found? only on Graig's website? I looked there and I saw their prices..and first I wanted to check if there is another place to find these without paying that much, before buying them. Until I am completly familiar with EFT, I'll continue with the whole recipe..but later I'd like to use some shortcuts.
