Guest guest
Shari, I'm a firm believer that God doesn't close a door without opening a window.. seen it too many times in my life. Just know there is something even better out there. SuziSV <shavig@...> wrote: I'll elect myself to try it! Just found out today I am being surplused. Yes, I am officially surplus. What a word to use when telling a 56 year old woman her job has disappeared! I have visions of loading me into the truck and taking me to the dump. Not good for the self image or self worth. Poop. I really liked my job. I know, I know, another door will open, blah, blah, blah. It just doesn't feel good. I love the people I work with and I loved the kids especially. I even loved getting up at ODarkthirty. Pay was great, days off wonderful, and the benefits were nice too. Off to another new adventure. Funny how all my adventures have come AFTER 50! Maybe I'll go back and apply to be a flight attendant again. Wouldn't that be a hoot! I certainly have more experience in stressful situations than most of those airheads, oops, I was one of those airheads 30 years ago! I'm just running off at the mouth because if I don't I'll just sit here and cry. Shari How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates. Of all people giving me encouragement! That means a great deal to me and I will be thinking of you with every resume I submit! Thanks to everyone who has responded. Now visualize me in a kitchen of a raw retreat in January in Costa Rica. I just know that is my next job! Shari

Guest guest
I have no clue where this place is. I don't even know what city to look up to fly into! And I love the one about "being too old to climb through the window"! Isn't that the truth!! Now if I can just keep it together to not cry today. I'm going to ask HR to please keep me until Friday just so I can have an entire month paycheck. We got paid once a month on the last day of the month. I have at least 2 days sick pay so if they say not to come to work at least they might pay me? Yeah, right. Shari
Guest guest
San is the capitol of Costa Rica. Escazu (sp?) is a suburb right next to it. It is up in the beautiful mountains and has very even temps year around - averaging 74 degrees. Along the coast it gets miserbably hot during the summer months. Even in the rainy season it is hot. There are lots of companies who prey on Americans coming to CR. They will sell you a crash course in Spanish, tax advice, etc. Remember the tax structure and many other things are set to catch grumbling Americans. But it is a beautiful country, the people are wonderful, helpful, clean. I was there twice and loved it.
