Guest guest
Good morning, . I am really excited to read this but not surprised. You have a great CI Team working with you and I suspect that your wait may be much shorter than you expect. The biggest thing is the insurance approval. It looks like happy, hearing days are ahead. The CT Scan is easy. Just relax with it on Monday. I imagine you'll have it at the main hospital. I will be at PEI on Tuesday so I guess we'll miss each other but I am going to be anxious to hear your news on Monday. We talked about getting this process done over the summer and I think you are going to make it. I hope we can get together sometime during this period. Guest guest
Hi, I went through the same process last fall. Know how you feel. I was amazed how quickly everything fell into place. I think it was good that it happened quickly, that way I didn't have a chance to change my mind! LOL I hope it works out for you. I'm late deafened. The surgery was no big deal and my CI works so much better than my HA's there's really no comparison. It is a huge step, and there's no going back. For me, it was definitely the right decision! At the time of my surgery I could manage about 50-60% speech recognition in my good ear. Now...I can understand only about 20-30% in my unimplanted ear but 90+% with my CI! It takes a little time and patience, but these little things can work really well. :-) -Jeff Clarion 90K 12/03 > Hi everyone, > > I've been lurking here for many months, and getting occasional > emailed pep-talks from Alice (Hi Alice!!) about the CI process. > After fence sitting and messing with insurance companies and the > like, I'm finally off and running in my quest to get a CI -- > with " running " being the operative word. > > From what I'd read, I was expecting a somewhat leisurely process, > with weeks and weeks between each exam. Guest guest
Hi ... Mine was a whirlwind... Saw the surgeon on Feb 2, had hearing test on Feb 16 and the surgery on Feb 23. MUCH faster then I thought would be possible. Good luck... susan & hobbes michigan
