LOL Maybe I should play with it. Be nice to have more than 2 prograsm slots. The noise suppression same as auto sens? Just how did you and your audie detemrine that was what you wanted? *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* It is far more impressive when others discover your good qualities without your help. --Judith S. & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.attbi.com/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
Cibdy Trouble! I think I know you, I see trouble coming. LOL This is news to me. Noise suppression is not the same as auto sensitivty? Can yuh still hear sirens and important noise like that? I am betting its what I am using. Got a volume map too, still wont try it, it SO very different and I have not given it a chance. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Therapy is expensive. Popping bubble wrap is cheap. Guest guest
Try not to keep track of the time! Some people progress faster than others. Some seem to progress slowly and then whooomp! they catch up real quick. Enjoy all the changes along the way and don't forget the three P's: patience, practice, persistence. PS - i was pretty happy at the 6 month mark...the one year mark was even better...and now after 5.5 years, I still detect slight improvements. Guest guest
It took several days (maybe even a couple of weeks) for voices to stop sounding so " darth " as you say. Hang in there! Guest guest
We're all different. People sounded like Alvin the chipmunk to me at first rather than Darth Vader (7months ago). Now they sound like loud whispers. BUT the " loud whispers " sound " normal " now. My speech understanding has continued to improve. I even understand fairly well in small groups and much better in one on one conversations. I just stopped fighting the fact that voices don't sound " right " . I managed with a hearing aid until age77, at which point I couldn't carry on a one on one conversation any more. The ci is a tremendous boost for me. Made my first " business " call on the phone today, using my brand new CapTel phone. 'Nice to not have to ask my wife to do that for me. I can hear fairly well on the phone but wouldn't chance it with an " important " call before. Virg ********* Hi, Day 3 of activation, I can understand some conversations, people sound like darth vader from star wars. My question is about how long does it take for the sounds to become more normal sounding? The audie told me tomorrow I need to switch to p2. I see her again Monday for follow up visit. Guest guest
It all depends, we are all different. I cant remember your hearing history dwntwngr, as to whather you were born deaf or were late deafened. I'm an impatient male and if I was still getting cartoon voices after a couple of days, I would have tried P2 by now :-). It can take a few days to get used to a new map and I had two activation days - April 26th & 27th this year, because my audi said that the map could change overnight. Its possible this could have happened to you. Ted F. > > Hi, > Day 3 of activation, I can understand some conversations, people > sound like darth vader from star wars.
