my friend washes her dishes and places in dishwasher for dying vs. using it to wash her dishes. I'm a copycat here and my counter now looks great.

No dishwasher here so my dishes sit in the same place for washing and drying...on the counter next to the sink.

Now I don't have one and they stay in the sink until I do them. Kitchen always looks cluttered.

Same here Gayla. They're either in the sink or in a drainer on the counter or both. Usually both.

When I had a dishwasher, I put dirty dishes there, washed them when I went to bed. Put away in the morning. Counters always uncluttered. Now I don't have one and they stay in the sink until I do them. Kitchen always looks cluttered.

OT, BUT MAYBE NOT OT IF YOU CAN USE IT NOW...

I love leaving my washed dishes on counter near sink and not put away. Well, my friend washes her dishes and places in dishwasher for dying vs. using it to wash her dishes. I'm a copycat here and my counter now looks great. My friend that has been here twice complimented how beautiful my house is. She didn't want to take a tour and if she went to the bedroom she would take that back as I have lots of clothing on spare room bedroom bed and my bedroom dresser.

One step at a time regardless what your age is. Hope this helps someone else. I waited decades to learn this one. Hope it gives others a head start here.

Gayla, I used to use it for dirty dishes, but now dishwasher for storing clean ones. Giving it a try at least. Kitchen still looking orderly....amazing to the max. Maybe you can store in stove, with dry towels there...here I don't use my stove, but not as convenient as dishwasher...record history hitting here: clean kitchen...no dishes.... VERY rare occasions. I use the same pots, dishes, etc. over and over and don't even bother putting them away. Wash 'em and put them in the dish drainer or (for pots), put them right back on the stove for when I cook later. Very handy. Every now and then I want the place to look really organized and I'll put SOME of them away.

I used to do that when I had a stove where the oven didn't work. I got a new stove in Sept. and don't store anything in the oven now. I might forget it's in there (very likely), turn it on and not realize it until the towel goes up in flames. ;-)

Talking about burnt pots~~ getting to be the expert in cleaning and now that I bought that diffuser I got a stove that has developed marks so return back of the diffuser coming up. The diffuser puts marks on your stove? Do you have a gas stove? It doesn't leave any marks on mine.

I just put my diffuser on my stove. It rests on the black metal burner grids and doesn't even touch the the stove part. Do you have an unsual kind of stove?

Yes, something is going on with the stove and I don't know what. Gong to Bed Bath and getting a cleaner that the lady there said she loves

I've got stains, marks etc. on my stove too. (not from diffuser). I need to get something mildly abrasive for it. I need to take a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond soon anyway. Heck....I just love walking through the place and browsing. Of course I want everything!!!

It also rests on the burners but maybe a "rare" stove which I never detected before.
