I did come home and weighed myself and have lost 5 pounds. But, I am really struggling with the diarrehea (sp). I eat, I am in the bathroom. I am also having lots of trouble getting my pills down that I am prescribed. I take 9 pills at night and I have cut them up but Im still having trouble getting them down. Guest guest
Thank You Jessie Its all worth it in the end. I am not one to use public restrooms so I really need to plan when I eat my broth and have to leave the house. I think the diarrhea will subside plus some of the girls mentioned liquid immodium so I will go get some of that tomorrow. Other than that I feel great and am glad I had the surgery!! Tammy I. Guest guest
Tammy,,,, the “stuck in your throat”feeling WILL stop….Taking my meds cut up at first felt like that too Now I don’t even notice it. I really think its just a “frame” of mind maybe…at least it was for me. Anyways….the Diarrehea also gets better. You can control it more after about 6 days but I do think its normal to do that after “eating” The HOT liquid….its a normal bodily function for the heat to make you do that I think. I noticed I only ran to bathroom after the broth…I couldn’t eat the broth and jello at the same time. Jello came about 2 hours later and I didn’t have the bathroom run with that. Good luck….I am beginning to think its all about making friends with your BODY and now Your Band…………. Re: [ Thank You! / My personal experience Thank You Camilla, B and Virginia. Guest guest
Hey Tammy, How are you it's Nydia. Remember me we got banded the same day. Well I am sorry to hear that you still are having problems with you bouls. I just got mine yesterday. I have been home feeling pretty good, but hey I want to ask you a question do you have any pain on your left hand side. I do of and on. Everything else is great, I am healing pretty good, but I am just a little concerned about that. Can you let me know. How are you doing with the eating situation. I read from Ginger that she is drinking protien drinks and I think that she had her surgery last week too? Do you think it is safe to do that?? I would love to keep in touch with you. I am glad you are home and yeah !! We Did it?? Nydiatammy irish <tammyntod@...> wrote: Thank You Jessie Its all worth it in the end. Guest guest
Hi Nydia, I am glad you made it back safe and sound. I have not had any pain on my left side. I do know that some of the others have had pain like in their left shoulder and I guess its gas. they say to lay down on your left and it starts to go away. The only thing that I have found is like a pressure in my chest. My incisions are starting to itch though. I think that means they are healing okay. I am doing pretty good on the eating. I am not really that hungry at all. I am just eating my yummy broths and jello that for some reason will not set!! You can ask Nina about the protein drink but I think the one that Ginger is drinking is the clear kind. I think we can have that one. The thicker protein drinks I think we can have when we start on full liquids. So now you need to step on that scale!! I just read where Kyla has lost 33 pounds!!! She was banded the day before us. Thats incredible. I would love to stay in contact with you. We dont live that far from eachother at all. Tammy I. DOB-4/20/06 goes everywhere you do. Get it on your phone. Guest guest
Hey Tammy I am glad that you recieved my e*mail. I guess I really need to step on the scale. I do feel that I have lost weight, but I do not think that much. As a matter a fact I am going to buy a scale today because I do not own one!! I am going to buy protien drinks today. I also feel some pressure on my chest sometimes, but I do the breathing exercise thing and it helps me get rid of that. You are lucky that you do not have the pain on the left hand side it hurts!! I spoke to some other friends that had bypass and the band about 6 months ago with another doctor and they tell me that the pain is normal they had it. Yes I would love to keep in touch with you. Guest guest
Hi, All (and my buddy, Tammy I.!). I just got home a couple of hours ago. I have so much to share with all of you about the experience. To be honest, I feel like "crap" right now. It was a very long day and my gallbladder surgery, though it went quite well, has left me very sore. (There's a story there). I got home to 209 new emails so I'm sorry I can't get to them all tonight. I look forward to catching up this week. I did meet Jeannette on the ride from airport. She says she doesn't email or post much at all. I totally enjoyed meeting Tammy and wish we had tons more time together. I have lots to say about her!!! :>). Sadly, I didn't even realize was there as she got in Saturday afternoon while I was in recovery, and admittedly, I totally zonked out Sat. evening. She ended up having surgery quite late Sat. night - delayed because of an emergency for Dr. A. at another hospital. I spent much of Sunday with an Ativan hangover so was somewhat out of it! Anyway, lots to tell. I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who is contemplating this procedure, and at Hospital Almater, to go for it. Later. Thanks for the well wishes. Guest guest
Hey There, Tammy! Five pounds already!! You go, Girl. That is fantastic. I echo everything you said about the "crew". I wish I had about 20 and Dianna nurses on staff at my hospital. My Mom and I both fell in love with both of them. All, I loved meeting Tammy. She's as adorable as I expected. Our overlap time was just too short. I didn't even know was there. I'm glad we had time together on the trip back to San Diego. , I didn't expect to have THAT much time, though, did you?!! Gosh I hope you are feeling better. In case hasn't posted this yet - we were about an hour out of Mexicali when the van up and died. We were 4200 feet up in the "high desert" and had just been "hanging on" in anticipation getting to the airport, going to the bathroom, (passing gas) and all. lol There we were, almost 2 hours. Of course, none of us had a clue how to fix the car. Tammy, I'll be in touch soon on your email and "off topic" as they say! lol Right now, I feel the need to rest. I've been working on my email and voicemail for work. Better cut that out!! Phyllis Re: [ Thank You! / My personal experience Thank You Camilla, B and Virginia. Guest guest
Thanks, . I feel better this evening. One thing I need to do is not continuing to check my email and call in to work - as the guy in "The Mask" said, "somebody STOP meeeeeeee". Guest guest
Thanks, Penny. I'm better this evening except for that doggone GB incision on the left of center. Thank Goodness my little Toby seems to realize "Mommy" hurts. She has been very gentle. Usually she jumps around on me like a flea!
