It sounds like you are doing better than me. My DOB was 2/16/06 and I

had lost 17 lbs but have already gained back 4. I was hungy from the

first day too. Now that I am eating more normal foods I am no longer

losing weight because I have no restriction and no will power to diet.

I too will be arriving on April 18th and will be filled on the 19th

since I will be there with a friend being banded. When I am filled I

will have to watch what I eat more than now in order to get in the

proper protien and veggies, until then I have no fear of

malnutrition. I am learning to see this as a marathon, in the end I

will get there, it just may take me awhile. I think if I didn't look

at it that way then I would bash myself for being a failure.

Remember, you can't really work your tool if your tool is not adjusted

properly. I wish I would have been one of the lucky ones that felt

restriction even before their first fill but that is exactly what they

are " LUCKY " . Part of the reason I haven't posted much is because I

didn't want to discourage anyone looking into the band for themselves

by hearing that not everyone has the same experience of losing major

amounts of weight in the first 6-8 weeks before being filled. I went

into this with big hopes that I would lose at least 25 lbs before my

first fill and have had to change my thinking. When I am filled is

when I will start really working my band and losing weight and I will

be able to continue to work my band at my pace for as long as it

takes. That is what makes the band so great. Don't get discouraged,

it is truely a marathon.

Hi Tammy A, my name is Ginger and I am flying in on April 18th from

Dallas, Tx. to be banded by Dr. Aceves. I hope to meet you. I've

also talked with a girl named who is coming in from Or on the

same day. Anyway, good luck with your fill. Ginger

I have felt so discouraged. I get my fill April 3rd and agree with

you, this will be when I really start getting on track.
