Guest guest Posted January 5, 2006 Report Share Posted January 5, 2006 My husband and I have been trying to decide if this surgery is the route I want to take to help me lose weight. My biggest concern is the problems my excess weight is causing with my health. I have problems with arthritis and I have fibromyalgia so I know the extra weight I carry around makes those things worse. I am also beginning to have problems with high blood sugar. This is not the way I want to live my life! I am only 42 and I have two sons that I want to be around when they grow up and have families of their own! I have to do something but I know that the gastric bypass is NOT the route I want to go.In doing research on the internet, my husband ran across Dr. Aceves and has talked with Nina about the cost. I look at the information everyday but still can't make up my mind. It's not the surgery that I am apprehensive about, but, I guess it is the thought of having this done in Mexico. I guess this is crazy but I just don't know. I would LOVE to hear from some of you, specifically about how you made that final decision to go ahead with the procedure.
