Guest guest
I'm post op almost 21 months. I recently saw Dr. R and Dr. P in Las Vegas when I flew out to be the support person for my sister-in-law, (from CT). She had the MGB on 3/4/05 and is now doing very well. She had a hematoma (sp?), went back into surgery to have it taken care of and some dehydration issues, but is now feeling wonderful. ....While I was out there, I talked to Dr. R about my recent plastic surgery (lower body lift on 1/3/05...9 lbs. of skin and 5 liters of lipo removed) and the DIFFICULT recovery. I passed out and collapsed quite often, was readmitted to the hospital, and almost went back in a third time for a blood transfusion (probably should have). He said anemia happens a lot with WLS patients after PS. I'm about 10 weeks out from PS, but still a little (about 90% recovered) short on usual energy. I'm on oral iron 3 x day, sometimes it bothers my stomach. Dr. R recommended getting the IV treatment. He said the oral takes a long time to bring you back to normal. The IV will bring it back very quickly. I called my PCP and will have a blood test this week to see where it's at. I finally sent my pictures into Michele for the mgbfriends website....I'll eventually be on there...
