Guest guest
Gloria are you ready to redesign a mouse trap? Another dreamy idea? LOL! You're asking the original non-violent Queen of Pacifism to make a new mousetrap?? I used to have Have-A-Heart mousetraps. I'd put cheese in them and in the middle of the night the mouse would get in the trap, the trap door would shut and the mouse would be scratching like crazy trying to get out. I'd get out of bed and take the trap outside and let the mouse go free in the woods. This went on night after night. A friend of mine once said it's probably the same mouse coming back everytime. I know I'm crazy, eh? But I don't eat or wear animals, or ever kill any critters...not even bugs and insects. I'm a real full blown tree-hugger;-). Guest guest
Gloria your cats took care of the mouse problem so no more have to attempt a visit. Don't hold your breath if you are waiting for my cats to kill mice. It ain't gonna happen. They'd rather get their food out of a can.;-). I have 3 birdfeeders up and birds everywhere and my cats don't even give them a second look. Gloria
Guest guest
Using Coca-Cola to kill mice.... I never saw one actually die, because they try so hard to get outdoors, that's where we would find them. They internally explode, so there was no mess. Sorry about the graphic nature of this... Of course it is important the fizz is still fresh for this to work. We found that coke works better than Pepsi. The more fizz the better! Change soda frequently and don't chill it either. Set out several low rimmed lids with soda at various places around edges of walls, cabinets, etc.. We have cats too and obviously we feed them too well. They are not hungry enough to actually do anything but play with the mice too. We did have a healthy black snake that seemed to take care of the mice until we found it. It had to go, I would rather deal with the mice. It was over three feet long when it fell off the stair banister and was trying to get back up stairs! Glad there were no cameras or that funny video show would have another priceless video! LOL!! I have heard the cheaper the peanut butter the better for the traps too! I have also heard that peppermint oil on cotton balls makes them flee the area as the smell is offensive to them. We lined the house with hedgeballs one season and didn't have a single mouse or cricket in the house. They don't last all year though. Growing mint around your house is supposed to work also, haven't tried that yet though. Good luck! ----- Original Message ----- From: abbottteresa1 health Sent: Tuesday, October 31, 2006 1:17 PM Subject: [sPAM] mice Never heard of coca-cola. Do they just drop over? or do they go hide somewhere? Also, we use "cheap" peanut butter as it sticks to the traps better and makes them work for it. The real peanut butter seems to slide off the trap before it catches anything. Our cat will catch mice but he only plays with them and bats them around the living room. We still have to catch them. Guest guest
Mint never quits growing so opted out to growing. I knew about peppermint eo and may have posted that while back. It's the manufacturer of the mouse traps that may be the culprit. Gloria are you ready to redesign a mouse trap? Another dreamy idea? Thanks for all info. I'm sure we have a hole where they are coming in from this country setting. I'm sure the other neighborhood cats are feed to well to take care of my problem. My dog is on rabbit patrol and that is all she can smell, see or dream about. carolgbeg1nagn <beg1nagn@...> wrote: Using Coca-Cola to kill mice.... Guest guest
Gloria, MerceLESS here so so sorry for those who do the safe trap mouse thing. I just can't stand mouse poop to show up and then I have to clean it. Just did some of that floor cleaning now...they surely can slip in and out of spots you think are protected and they appear exempt. Gloria your cats took care of the mouse problem so no more have to attempt a visit. Do your cats love to fly???? Like to CO? Hint! Guest guest
More often than not, we'd find that the mice and rats had chewed off their own limbs to escape. I would NEVER use them again. I know it sounds weird to some people but I just can't/won't kill anything. I believe all critters have a right to be here just as much as I do and just because they get on my nerves or cause some problems in my precious little world of material things I have no right to hurt them. They are simply innocently trying to survive in their own way like everyone else. I used to have possums and raccoons who tore my trash apart everynight. The next day it would be all over the lawn. It happened over and over. People were telling me to shoot them!! Instead I decided to everynight put out a big plate of dry cat food and see what happened. Yep..they were just hungry. The plate of food was empty the next day and as long as I did that, they never touched my trash again. I try to find what the pesky critters need and give it to them because killing is way out the of question for me. Gloria

Guest guest
I used it to ask the coral snakes to either move elsewhere or stay in the front half (the natural “preserveâ€) of the property. Haven’t seen one since. I've done that!!! I learned it from Findhorn in Scotland. I'd just sit down and lay it on the line....you bugs, flies etc. HAVE to leave now. I have a friend who had an ant problem and he was going to exterminate them. I told him to first make a big warning sign and put it up in his kitchen, telling them that they had to be out by the next day or else. He told me he put up the sign and the next day they were gone. He couldn't believe it.
Guest guest
Gloria, my hat is off to you. I disagree but I admire your viewpoint. It's ok to disagree. I don't even see it as my viewpoint. I've just always been this way, even as a kid who loved playing with cockroaches on the floor, played with the ant hills in the yard. Killing just isn't a part of my world. It's not a decision I made, just who I am. When I grew up I wanted to be just like Saint Francis (only with hair)!! Guest guest
Besides the electronic pest repellers, I highly recommend a tool called ho’oponopono. You can read more about it here: http://www.mrfire.com/article-archives/new-articles/worlds-most-unusual-therapist.html I used it to ask the coral snakes to either move elsewhere or stay in the front half (the natural “preserve”) of the property. Haven’t seen one since. I’ve also used it on several other issues that have come up since I found it and it’s solved each and every one. Guest guest
I would go out and chase them out, but there was one that let me pat her on the head. She was my favourite. That's great . I've never got to pet one of them. I came home from work one night and a huge possum was on my front step eating the cat's food. The cat was 2 ft. away just watching him. I thought there would be a fight, but nothing. I've seen some huge raccoons on my porch but haven't petted any of them. They just eat and leave. Spiders?? Hmmm. Nope never killed one of them either but have carried many of them outside. One time a friend was visiting and all of a sudden I heard a scream. There was a spider on the wall and my friend was just about to kill it. I yelled "Stop right now!" and rushed over and grabbed the spider with my bare hand and took it outside. People think I'm crazy. I'll spend an hour trying to catch moths, flies, etc. so I can take them outside. Never squished a bug or swatted a fly. At least not intentionally. Guest guest
I don't carry moths outside, but if a bee gets into the house I show her the way out with my mind. It is neat. Catching moths and flying critters is tricky. My cats WILL go after moths and sometimes get them before I can "save" them. I usually turn on a light, the moth goes to the light bulb and I snatch it in the palm of my hand and take it outside. Bees are another story. I have spent 45 min. trying to catch them. Your method sounds much easier. Gloria

Guest guest
I'm the same way. Even though I have SEVERE fear of spiders, I can't kill them. Some are very beneficial. I just wish our Creator would have made them not so..... ooogy. One thing I really miss being out here in CO is the racoons. They would come in every night into our back room rummaging through our trash. I would go out and chase them out, but there was one that let me pat her on the head. She was my favourite. Guest guest
If they go to a window you can put a glass over them then slide a piece of paper under the glass. That will hold them in the glass until you can release them outside. Sometimes when I am showing one with my mind, I get a knothead who insists on going to a closed window! Guest guest
For some reason we get an infestation of flies at Christmas time every year and I discovered Christmas cards make great fly catchers and it doesn't injure the flies. Wait until they are on the big window and then just gently close a Christmas card on them and carry them to the door. Open the card outside and they fly away! Jars on top of spiders and then slide a piece of paper under the spider, carry to door and release outside. We were told, as kids, if we killed spiders it would rain.
