Amonia info. at http://sagebug.com/tips/rat.html I read dogs/cats as deterrent. Maybe your raw dog doesn't have the scent other dogs do? Shari, I'll keep my mice problem as they are smaller, but surely not happy seeing teflex sheets with large size holes in the middle of the sheet eaten, or wool socks, hardly worn, chewed up for meals or awareness they are being a pest with free rent. A total annoyance to deal with. I'll be back if I have more info. carolgSV <shavig@...> wrote: Think the mint trick would work for rats? Guest guest
I've heard if you have mice you won't have rats and vice versa. Guess they don't get along. Tell me about things chewed up! My mother threaded hundreds of beads onto gold thread and crocheted very delicate Christmas garlands. I now have hundreds of 12" garlands! They chewed through the edges on the template I had them wound up on (did that make any sense?). They also ate my father's Resistol cowboy hat I bought him and got back when he died. Made me so very angry and really sad. We've tried everything to keep them out and nothing has worked. We think they are getting in through a chink in the foundation (no basement here). We put wire up on it, but after a minor earthquake we think it has opened again. You'd think a house built in 1946 would be settled by now!! Guest guest
Have any of you with these rodent problems tried electronic pest repellers? I’ve been using them for years and have never had a rodent in the house. Or a bug, either. These are the ones I use: http://www.pestrepellerultimate.com Sharyn From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of SV I've heard if you have mice you won't have rats and vice versa. Guest guest
Mice...not rats here... I know last night the mouse trap went off, but there was no mouse. My dog adopts a seat nightly near computer seat. She heard the trap go off and she jumped under the computer desk like a rabbit. She was hiding by my legs. She has done this before. Now I realize that is the only thing s he is scared of: the mouse trap sound! It was a false alarm obviously and the mouse probably didn't get away with any PB either. A mouse remains! Tonight may show evidence. carolgcarolG <cgiambri@...> wrote: Sharyn, Thanks. Which one do you have at the site? Lokked like a few. carolg"Sharyn E. Guest guest
Rats and mice can co-habit. Just not really close, like within several feet of each other. My cats kill a lot but I admit I resort to poison for them. Just One Bite Bars. Gayla Always Enough RanchAcampo, Californiahttp://bouncinghoofs.com/alwaysenough.htmlBill Barnhill is our Inspiration! Guest guest
These are OK if you don’t have any pets in the house. The ultrasonic sound the repellers emit can make pets neurotic. Imagine if someone was constantly blowing whistle right in your ear 24/7. Guest guest
I’ve had dogs the whole time I’ve been using these and they haven’t bothered any of them. I wouldn’t use them if I had rodents or birds as pets. They supposedly don’t bother reptiles. Guest guest
They are not attracted to it. Neither are dogs. Nor ground squirrels. Seems just rats and mice. I apologize to any of you that this offends. Gayla Always Enough RanchAcampo, Californiahttp://bouncinghoofs.com/alwaysenough.htmlBill Barnhill is our Inspiration!
