you sound like you are doing great after surgery the medication they use

to put you to sleep make some people throw up but it doesn't last long

the tastebuds will be back to normal in a few weeks or less most of the time

when to take off the bandage is up to the doctor mine said the next

day was fine but other doctors like to leave it on a while longer so

follow what your doctor says

just rest and relax that's what is best for healing do what you feel

like but don't push it let other people wait on you .... that'sthe fun

I would prefer that you not use that language on this list please. It's

unnecessary and uncalled for.

Now to help you with your questions.

You probably got sick on your meds because of the anesthesia. Very often, if

you don't ask for ant-nausea meds, this can happen. It will pass quickly.

Everyone is different and not everyone loses their taste buds but I've heard

from those who did that it lasted a week to 10 days.

Keep yourself busy with things you like to do. The healing goes by very quickly

and you will be back to normal faster than you expect. Take the time you have

now to be pampered a little. Enjoy life and congratulate yourself for doing

something courageous but beneficial as once you are hearing with the implant -

life normally has more quality. If you received literature about your implant

read up on it. Read hook up stories on here and on the internet. Do what you

would do if you were recovering from anything.

Do not take the bandages off until the doctor recommends it. If you don't have

those orders on your dismissal paperwork, call the doctor's office today and get

the instructions before the doctor leaves for the weekend.

Congratulations on having your surgery behind you. It gets better from here.

Thank you,

Alice

Yes it did, I had a lot of pain, like a real bad headache, virtigo, sickness,

and felt v nausous......I also had this awful tintius ringing........like there

was a v loud roar or areoplanes taking off v lose by and a lot of hammgering and

drilling noises.......my taste was affected down the left side (same side as

implant) and I could not get rid of the anasetic taste which I had for ages!!

Urggh....You need to take it easy.........and rest........make most of it, when

they switch you on, that is when the hard work starts! Hope this helps
