Guest guest
Sweatbands, Great idea. Could probably fashion some sort of electic band or pocket to hold the CI's in. Now in the shower....a mini baggie that seals around the cable would be nice too. That sure would make life in the shower more pelasant! LOL Alice, I would be nervous around pools too. Years ago, I stayed away from the pool area because there were some people (brainless ones) who would think nothing of tossing others into the pool. I think some kind of baggie that was easy to use yet totally waterproof would be so nice for use in hot tubs. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* No keyboard, press F1 to continue. --Anonymous & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.attbi.com/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
Hi BunE-- dont you love those new floppy ears??? when my audie adjusted my map on Monday-- it did really become more tolerable too. As for your floppy ears getting sore-- does your processors have the soft hooks that you can use to put on? I wear a soft hook on my BTEs so that my ears dont get tender so I was wondering if your company made them too? as for keeping our precious processors dry in the pool/ shower/ hot tub/whatever we go into that is water what about a bathing suit cap like Speedo or something. I am sure that it doesnt leak then we can hear what it is like in the pool this summer or in the ocean :-) but then again I could be wrong and dont want to be responsible for wrecking a whole bunch of processors. It is no fun not being able to hear especially in the water!!! -- Snoopy N24C-bilateral
Guest guest
Hi I am happy to hear that things were better at your 2nd mapping. Now it will began to sound better to you too.But there will be many more mappings and each time it will be easier and the results will be better!! Love Dora 2nd Mapping Good evening everyone, I had my second mapping today, one week post-hookup. When my audi did the T levels, I made sure I could really distinguish the real beeps from the tinnitus ones, and for the C levels, I had her go to a too loud level and then back down. This resulted in some lowering of the low-frequency T levels, but not so much in the high-frequency ones--probably because of all the guessing I was doing the first time. But the C levels went way up across the board. I asked about the extended lows, and they were already on--so no quick fix there! Everything still sounds like very high pitched beeping, but it seems crisper to me, and its louder. Didn't get a chance to do any real practicing today, so I'll have to do that tomorrow for sure. Next mapping is in two weeks. She put the same program (SAS) on all three slots, with slot 3 at 100% aux. 1 & 2 are identical. Darned if I still can't quite make out the turn signal yet, though LOL! Guest guest
On Tuesday July 20th I had my 2nd mapping of my cochlear implant & received 3 new programmes. I was able to tolerate much louder programmes & was then was tested with the 1st of my new programmes in the soundproof booth. Only pure tones were tested but it showed I had " borderline normal hearing " . This of course does not mean I have good speech comprehension but have the " where with all " to learn to hear in a new way & hopefully understand more & more speech . I have to return in 2 weeks for my 3rd mapping but hopefully after that we will not have to go back for a month or two.I never thought learning to " hear " would be so tiring but I am willing to do " what it takes " to get the most out of my CI. Pam once again was able to meet up with us & we enjoyed sharing " our journey " . Thanks for your support . Sheila & Mentor
