Guest guest
Yep! I didn't make a mistake, I meant parvo. It is sometimes called Fifth Disease, and kids get it most often. I have it very seriously - the range considered to be " normal " in the human is from 0 - 0.8 and mine is 24 - yes, twenty-four!!!! IT has infested my body and I am now on heavy duty treatment for 6 months. I have read different things, but some things say it canNOT be transferred from dog to human or vice versa, some things say it absolutely can. My dr. told me it could be passed. My puppy got it 2 years ago 2 days before his scheduled immunization shots. She had to spend a week in Intensive Care with an IV and everything, over a thousand bucks - but she made it. I asked the dr. if I could have gotten it from her. He told me that my blood count was SO high that I had to have had it for quite some time, so most likely I GAVE IT TO HER! And, yes, everyone's reaction here is precisely the same reaction I had while sitting in the office being told I have PARVO - a dog's disease - inside my body!!!!! I just thank God that I have a diagnosis with a treatment plan and I hope to be better in a couple of months. I asked the pharmacist if it was really rare and he told me more people have it than I would think, but drs very rarely test for it.
Guest guest
How interesting. My kids had fifth disease, but I didnt know it was the parvo virus. They seemed to get over it with a pretty easy treatment. But then my kids had everything including hands, foot and mouth disease. That one, put one of the kids in the hospital for dehydration.
