I had the surgery done about 14 months ago. The skin healed better than even

I thought it would. The recovery time post surgery required keeping arms

wrapped in ace bandages for about 10 days. You actually want to keep them

wrapped so that you don't have to think about them much. I used Mederma to

heal

scar and it worked beautifully. I researched brachioplasty before doing it, and

the only real side effect I could find was that there is a chance you can get

nerve damage, but stats showed very low percentage, certainly worth the small

risk. I would have it again. Best of luck.

DEDE, sounds like you must be doing GREAT if you are ready for surgery. Hope

you get a great result! Keep us posted. It is always nice to hear from you.

Plastic surgery/arms

Has anyone out there had their arms " done " ? I'm having mine done in a

couple of weeks...when I have my breast reconstruction done. I had a

double

mastectomy this past Nov, due to breast cancer. NOT FUN.....anyway, I have

expanders in and will have them swapped out for saline implants....and

have a little

lipo on my midrift area ....since insurance will pay for the operating

room

and anesthesia, I might as well get as much done as my body can handle!

I'm also on a tomoxifin type med, arimidex, which throw me quickly into

menopause, and I've gained about 20 lbs, with no effort. depressing. I'm

doing

some excercise, but will do pilates after I recover from the surgery.

If anyone has had the surgery done, I'd just like to hear about the

recovery

period, etc.

Please e-mail me at _dedevz@..._ (mailto:dedevz@...)

Thanks!

I had my arms done and they look great but the scar is very visible. I

still feel uncomfortable with

Short sleeves. I knew there would be a long scar but thought I would be

hidden more. Mine comes down to the tip of my elbow so it shows all the

time.

But my clothes fit much better now and I can buy smaller tops.

Hope all goes well for you. I was very faithful with support garment for at

least 6 weeks. The pain was not bad at all.
