A Chickweed salve would be excellent in treating diaper rash. Chickweed poultices are good for sore eyes and have been used for swollen testes and hemorrhoids. One herbalist said that anyone who is covered by any kind of sores should take a chickweed herb bath and then apply chickweed salve. I'd try this for chicken pox! It is also useful (both externally and internally) for breast inflammation during lactation. For blood poisoning it should be taken internally and applied externally, as well.The mucilage content helps to heal stomach and duodenal ulcers, inflamed bowels, lungs, and most any inflammation (both internal and external). It strengthens the tissue lining of the stomach and the intestines. It will also aid in sore throats (as an expectorant). For constipation when the bowels are completely obstructed bowels take 1 tbsp, boil in a quart of water down to 1 pint. Take one cupful warm every three hours. For a general tea steep 1-2 tsp. for 30 minutes. Take 3 or 4 cups of warm tea a day between meals. If you prefer capsules the average dose is 1 or 2 capsules a day, more if needed.Chickweed will work to move plaque our of the blood vessels and eliminate fatty substances from the system.Chickweed can be used in bathing for its "soothing affect" on the body.Chickweed has been used on tumors. For blood poisoning, use a Chickweed decoction internally and apply a Chickweed poultice externally to the affected areas. Suzi What is a weed?
