I was banded January 30, 2007. I lost 15 pounds during my liquid diet

period. I gain 10 pound back after two months. I just got my first

fill last weekend April 21st in Mexicalli. I don't know if I doing

something wrong. I don't fill much of a restriction. If I eat slow

and chew really well then I can eat a normal size portion. I'm eating

food that is high protein and low fat.I'm not drinking any thing during

the time that I'm eating. I'm feeling really discouraged. Does the

restriction start immediately after the fill or is a while later. Do I

need another fill already. Does anyone have any advise for me.

thank you,

Arlene

Arlene, I had my first fill yesterday so I'm not sure yet how I'm going to feel.Be sure you are eating solid foods, mushies will go down and drinking after meals will make it go down. I hope you don't need another fill so soon. take care, Bettyakmdh05 <akmdh05@...> wrote: I was banded January 30, 2007. I lost 15 pounds during my liquid diet period. Hi.... I had my lapband in late September. I had my first fill in

December. That fill changed virtually nothing. I was the same as you.

If I ate slowly I could eat just about anything, even bread. Even

drinking during my meal caused no trouble. From the fill date to the

first fill I only lost 8 pounds. I went back mid February and had not

lost a thing. They put 1.1 in each time. Well things have changed. I

can NOT DRINK a thing while eating. The 5 oz. capacity they talk about

is the truth. Your body will SHOUT to you when your full and you won't

want to go one step beyond that. Since them I am down 16 more pounds.

I am not losing as fast as most seem to be, but as long as it is going

down I will take it. Feel free to email me at any time.

bsajzkirby@....

Best of luck to you....

Hi Arlene, I too was very discouraged at the beginning, I didn't

gain, but I had only lost 13 pounds for what seemed like forever!!

The fill somethimes takes up to a week or so before it really kicks

in, so that may be what is happening, it may be that you may need

more saline too - give it a few more days, and see, you should only

be able to eat around 5-6 oz of protien, and a small helping of

veggies, and then be totally full! So see if this advice helps.

Good luck and keep us posted.
