hi!

Ok lets see here.

Sprint ---

uses 22 channels (2 of the 24 are for grounding)

has 4 program slots

separate controls for volume and sensitivity

uses disposable or rechargable AA batteries

3G ---

uses 20 channels

has 2 program slots

single control for volume and sensitivity

uses high power 675 batteries

From my perspective,t eh 3G is VERY close in sound quality to the

Sprint. Actually I cannot tell, been using my 3G a couple years now.

You will not notice the reduction in number of channels. Tho the 3G

has 2 program slots, if you opt for two 3G's they can be mapped with 4

programs.

Do I like my 3G? Absolutely. No wires no fuss. Oh battery life.

Depending on power drain and strategy you can get up to 10 days.

here uses the SPEAK strategy sand gets 10 days. I use ACE and

get about 4 days.

Hi ,

Congratulations on your surgery date. I believe gave you a good

description of the Sprint and the 3G. If I were you, I'd ask your CI Center to

let you try them both as well. The major difference between the two would be

the number of programs you can have as there are 4 on the Sprint and 2 on the

3G. Most people become very comfortable with one map and use it all the time.

Others feel that the Sprint is more powerful and offers better sound. I think

they are a tie and have one of each but more recently, use the 3G all the time.

There's something about the convenience of the BTE with no wires for me but we

are all different.

I'm glad you introduced yourself. We're happy you are here.

Hey ,

I remember you from way back in June. It's been a while but

congratulations on your surgery date!

The benefits to having the BWP, in my opinion, are: you get more choices

of which processor you like better. Some people like the sound of the BWP

better than the 3G (and for others it is the other way around). It is easier to

use when you are first hooked up because there are more buttons to play with

to customize your listening experiences. You get more programs to use. The

BWP holds 4 while the 3G holds 2.

I never use my BWP anymore and keep it in case I need a back-up. Whatever

you decide, you'll be hearing real soon!

I like using the BWP and BTE. I use the BWP at work. I tend to find

the BWP crispier in sound and I like to listen to music. If I'm

going to a concert or some place where I think listening to someone

or something is important I tend to use the BWP. I also think the

Auto mode for making the background noise less interfering better

ont he BWP.

I use the BTE at home and for most weekends. I just find it more

comfortable to wear when I change to more comfortable clothes. As a

volunteer fire fighter I use the head phones when driving the fire

truck and the BTE is especially nice to wear without the wires

getting in my way.

I think you should use both for awhile at first so you can get used

to learning to listening. You will be getting a new adjustment in

your mappings every time you see your audi and each time you will

get a newer and better mapping. Your audi is going to try to give

you the best mappings and the BWP as an advantage over the BTE in

this case. You have 4 programs in the BWP compared to the 2 in the

BTE. Each program is set up so you can choose your comfort level and

the audi normally gives you the two best programs possible for you

in the BTE.

You might find that you hate using the BWP. If so that's ok.

Everyone is different and only you can decide what you feel most

comfortable with. But do take into consideration that wearing your

BWP has it's advantages with helping you learn your new mappings.

I wish you the best of luck with everything.
