Congratulations!! Just try not to think

of “real” food – I drank the chicken bullion cubes, I liked

them, and it helped being hot. Also, you can have the sugar-free popsicles –

they really helped me with my sweet tooth. And just remember – its only

2 weeks – you’re half way through it already. The 3rd week

you can add a few more food items, such as yogurt and protein drinks –

such as chocolate (my favorite). It does get easier. Keep us posted on your

progress.

Subject: The

Newbie

Hello Everyone, My name is , I'm the newbie to

all of this. Just

banded a week ago, on the 19th. I'm already hating broth ugh! Tried

having some Chai tea , but was informed by monica that it was a no no

ugh! Man did any one else have problems sticking to the post-op diet.

I have lost 5 lbs so I'm doing well. I already miss the sensation of

eating real food though. But I know It is what I have to do. I was so

impressed with Dr.Aceves and his whole staff, what a complete blessing

it is, to have found them. Everything every one said was true about

thier experiences with him. My husband was soooooo skeptical; on our

way down to the hospital he said, " Now at any time, if you don't like

what you see, hear, or feel, then we can go straight home " . Ha Ha

Little did we both know how clean and up to date the hospital was and

professional the staff would be and how incredibly comfortable they

made me and my husband feel(not so skeptical ANYMORE).This was the

right decision, But all of you already know that. I'm glad that I have

decided to take this journey with you all. Blessings

Hi ! :-) welcome to the bandster world!!! I am in my third

week, well today is three weeks, so I am actually going onto my 4th

week. and I tell you what, I " hated " the first two weeks!! I

thought I would die, because I dealt with alot of hunger!! some

people say they dont deal with that, but I did. all I can say to you

is that it does get better in phase 2. I have had no problems in

phase 2. once you can drink full liquids it will stick with you

longer and give you many more choices. so just hang on sister and

let your body heal. I took the first week off,and I went stir

crazy!! Once I went back to work, it helped to occupy my mind. So

the second week was easier once I went back to work. Because alot of

my hunger was in my head too. It is like I litterly grieved food and

the loss of it! I think that went on for me really strong. I Never

realized how much of a hold food had on me, till you cant have it!

But now at the end of week three I was on my way home last night and

I was having some hunger and I said to my husband " hey you want to

stop at DQ and get some ice-cream " ? and then I said " no never mind I

will just drink some water and forget the ice-cream " ! and the funny

thing is, I can have ice-cream in this phase. But I havnt allowed

myself to have it yet. and then I was thinking to myself " wow I am

getting stronger and food is loosing its hold on me " ! I was really

excited and I felt so impowered. I know I will not always feel this

strong. I will have my weak moments and I will not always have that

kind of resolve, but this band is such a great tool, it helps you

deal with the stuff in your head too!! :-) so all of this to say " I

was just where you are right now, and it does get easier " !!! :-) so

hang on!!! :-) pretty soon this phase will just be a memory.

take care and if you need someone to talk to, email me anytime!

big hugs to you, and great job on the weight loss!! :-)
