Hi ,

Many thanks! Have you gotten your surgery date yet?

I understand what you mean by having to change your mind and losing

sleep over it. I went through the same thing the past few days. In my

case, since I had a surgery date I either had to go through with it and

implant the Nucleus or wait until the issue with the Clarion is

resolved. I didn't want to wait any longer.

Regards,

Sam

Hi Sam,

<sigh> I feel like I'm standing between two of my best friends (the 90K vs.

the recall) and being asked to choose between them. Unfortunately, aside

from the other issues I've already mentioned, I can't take more time off

from school. I'm sure my VR counselor would understand the position I'm in

but I only have one more semester before graduation and they *are* paying

for captionists and interpreters.

I don't have a surgery date yet *but* I see my audi tomorrow to look at each

of the different implant devices. I'm hoping that she'll have some good news

to share with me!!

Hi ,

It will probably be better for you to wait until you finish school.

Like you said, you only have one semester left until graduation. You

don't need any more stress at this time. Just try to relax and enjoy

this last semester before you worry about the CI. If you still want the

Clarion, they should have the issue resolved by then.

Regards,

Sam

Hi Sam,

I appreciate your concern -- thanks! Given all of the time and emotion I've

invested so far, I'm going to see this through. If I don't do it now, I

probably never will. With all of the wonderful sounds, experiences and

experiences a CI has the potential to bring me, I don't want to risk the

latter.

Hi ,

Certainly I understand. Just throwing in my two cents worth.

How's the weather in Wisconsin? My partner and I have a goal to visit all 50

states. We've been to every state west of the Mississippi while we lived in San

Francisco and now that we live in Atlanta, we're focusing on the east. We were

planning to take a trip up to Wisconsin this fall but had to cancel that due to

my surgery. Think it will be too cold in November?

Regards,

Sam

Hi Sam,

The weather here in Wisconsin is just gorgeous! The leaves have already

started to turn colors and the air is crisp. Daytime temperatures are in the

low 60's with mostly sunny skies (we've enjoyed this kind of weather

throughout September). Evening temperatures are getting on the nippy side --

upper 30's to low 40's. Brrr. Autumn is here and winter is not too far

behind.

Wisconsin is beautiful year-round but the outdoor views during autumn are

especially breathtaking.

The next time you're headed this way, let me know and I can recommend some

great places for you to visit.
