Thanks for the encouragement. Congrats on all that exercise!!! It is proven that we release serotonin when we exercise and that is the "happy" chemical in us and in some prescription anti-depressants. Maybe if I can get myself moving like that everyday, I could get off my prozac. I take it for PMS but when I was exercising I really noticed a difference in my moods. You should be so proud of yourself for going for a walk rather than stuffing your face because you were angry. That is a huge step!! Good job!! My band and I LOVE sugar cookies too. I have an amazing recipe and I haven't made it for my guests lately because I know I will eat them till I can't anymore :) Zumba is a workout video that teaches salsa dancing and stuff like that. I

heard the updated one isn't as good as the one that was on VHS tape but I think I will still like it. I really like to dance as a workout so I'm looking forward to using it. It should be here by this weekend. In the mean time, I'm going to hike w/my kids when my older boy gets home from school at 4:30 today. My 2 yr old and I are going to try going to the library today. It should be an adventure :) I want to start taking him to story time on Tuesdays, but I need to "break" him in on what the library is like first. And a wonderful friend of mine, she is the one that went to Mexicali with me, gave me a gift certificate for the spa when I moved so tomorrow I'm going to get a hair cut, color, and then go to the spa for a Kur bath and 1 1/2 hr massage, AHHHH I can feel it now :) :)I hope you have a great day!! Cyrena Re: Plateaus and Exercise challenge

Cyrena, thats a great idea to do a spreadsheet on how many minutes we

all do! I knew I wanted a challenge, but I wasnt sure how to format

it. I am so happy for you that you are so close to goal!!! That is

so awesome!!!

For me working out is the only way I will ever loose this weight! I

still have so far to go. Today I did a 3 mile very brisk walk. I

was speed walking!! :-) I put my sons ipod on techno music and just

zoomed. It also helped that i was pissed off at my husband and my

step-brat. I Just kept pushing myself and letting off my steam! It

felt so darn good!! :-) And you know I do not break a sweat, I never

have really been able too. But I was actually starting to break

one!! :-) And then I came back and did 30 or more minutes of weights

training and I wore my sweat shirt in the house and I again started

to really feel like I was sweating!! :-) I keep telling myself, "you

can be a fat burning machine"!! :-) So, I would say my total minutes

today was 11/2 hours of working out!! wooo hoooo. i feel good!! :-)

Good for the body, good for the soul too. I also had 2 protien

shakes and I am drinking my water and watching what I eat. the only

thing I Bombed on today was sugar cookies. I made them for the kids

last night, and they are so good I had to have a few. :-) my band

loves sugar cookies!! lol

OH by the way, what is a zumba? is that like a ipod? i have heard

of zoommi is it like that?

take care, and again congrats on your almost being to goal!!! that

is such a unbelievable accomplishment! !

hugs,

> I'm going to commit to drink 1 protein shake a day this week, all 7

days. I have really slacked off and I'm getting about 20g of protein

a day and I feel it, I'm so run down lately, I know that is the

problem. We are going to get through this time ;) I worked out

Friday for about 10 minutes, mind you I haven't worked out since June

so I'm taking it a little slow. :) As soon as my Zumba comes, I will

put more time into it, I just hate walking alone and when I walk w/my

2 yr old it isn't much of a workout, Oh, that is unless something

happens like the last 2 hikes and I ended up carrying him on my

back :) :) I will also commit to 60 minutes of workout time this

week. That's about 10 minutes a day and better than the nothing I

have been doing :)

I am working on it, but right now it seems to be getting harder instead of easier. Whoever said it takes 6 weeks to form a new habit must have been nuts! I could go back to my old way of eating in a heartbeat right now (if my band would let me, which it won't, thank goodness.) I just want to eat so bad! Maybe I need to splurge and just eat one piece of pizza and get it out of my system? I'm afraid it will disagree with my band (since bread almost always does, so I've given that up.) I guess if it doesn't agree with me, that might be a good thing. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago, but I think I need a little more. I'll give it a few more days and see. Thanks for the encouragement! Kristi...

Oh, I think it takes longer than six weeks to get over carb cravings, it's not a habit but a carb craving. But it does get better. You eventually get to the point that you just accept you can't have it (since you say you can't have bread). I think it was hard for me for about 3 months and today I just don't care. If Dr. Aceves told me I had to do a month of liquids for some reason I doubt I'd bat an eye. I just don't care. I never thought I would get to that point but I am.

I can't say it would be that way without my band, but knowing I can't makes it such that I've come to the point that I really just don't care about food. A point in life I have wanted to be for many years.

It will happen, give it time.

If we could all just look at food as a regular old basic need instead of something to enjoy, we would not be so hung up on it. I used to LOVE food and crave food but now (15 months later) I just think of food as a requirement to stay alive.

(19th). I have this goal of being down to 220 by my bandiversary on October 6th. And because I actually gained 2 lbs (I keep telling myself has to be muscle!!) I now I have to loose 8 more pounds. I would like 10, but I will take 8! :-) But it sounds like you are doing awesome!! :-) How are you feeling today? You are doing so awesome. I cant believe you have lost that much in such a short time, and you are really working at it! way to go girl. I Hope your spirits are lifted today. :-) I was feeling tired too, and since I have added a extra shake I am feeling better. today I feel pretty good! Yesterday I was so irritable! I just wanted to strangle anyone in my path, and I was also very sensitive, like I could cry all day. Maybe hormones? But after I walked really hard I felt better. Well I am off to start my day and go do my weights! :-)you guys have a great day!!! big hugs, > Ok, another challenge ,> I'm going to commit to drink 1 protein shake a day this week, all 7 days. I have really slacked off and I'm getting about 20g of protein a day and I feel it, I'm so run down lately, I know that is the problem.

We are going to get through this time ;) I worked out Friday for about 10 minutes, mind you I haven't worked out since June so I'm taking it a little slow. :) As soon as my Zumba comes, I will put more time into it, I just hate walking alone and when I walk w/my 2 yr old it isn't much of a workout, Oh, that is unless something happens like the last 2 hikes and I ended up carrying him on my back :) :) I will also commit to 60 minutes of workout time this week. That's about 10 minutes a day and better than the nothing I have been doing :) > > So far for the Exercise Challenge I have , Kristi, and myself. Did I miss anyone that wanted to join? Remember to do a post w/your minutes of exercise so I can put it in the spreadsheet. Either post or email me directly :)> > It's going to be a great week!> > Cyrena > http://cyrenaweeks.blogspot.com> 240/159/150> DOB: 1/19/07> 2 fills> > > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------> Pinpoint customers who are looking for what you sell. > Catch up on fall's hot new shows on TV.
