You can try a shampoo that contains zinc like Head & Shoulders with zinc

picolate or Pantene with zinc. Some people have had success with Minoxidil(sp?)

as well.

Does the hair loss continue forever?

I had my surgery last June and thought I was going to miss out on the

hair loss part. Unfortnately the last few months I have noticed that I

am losing more hair than normal. I tried taking extra zinc and Biotin

but it gave me bad stomach cramps. Is there anything else I can do to

stop the hair loss? Is the hair loss just temporary or will it

continue forever? I am lucky that I started out with fairly thick hair

but if I cannot find something to stop the hair loss I'm affraid that

people will soon be calling me que ball.

Hi :

My surgery was on 5-29-07, and my hair loss is exactly what you are

experiencing. I, too, have and am taking the supplements. I'm very worried

about being bald. I went from thick course wavy hair to straw-like frizzy hair

that is so thin I can see my scalp.

Any advice out there for us relative newbies?

Thanks, Diane

Make sure that the zinc you are taking is Zinc Sulphate. The other stuff made me

feel ill too. The zinc sulphate seems to have helped me a lot. My hair dresser

commented last month that my hair has really filled in and thickened. I noticed

the loss more than anybody else, but it has slowed or nearly stopped.

, some people have had good luck using Head & Shoulders

Intensive shampoo. It has 2% zinc, so delivers the mineral directly

to the scalp. I've just started it, so can't give a testimonial yet.

Sure hope it works!

I have not been able to tolerate the zinc, even when taken with food. My

hair was thin to begin with and now at five months out it is getting really

thin. I was just thinking, if the zinc shampoo helps, would it help to open

the

zinc capsules and make a paste from the contents to rub directly on the

scalp? I wonder if it would help or if it would do harm.

We might want to temper the recommendation for using Minoxydil. One

side effect is facial hair, and it is not recommended for women.

Hi Michalina:

Yes, my weight loss has virtually stopped for the last two months. Strange

after so many months of steady losing. Otherwise I am doing okay. My only

problem is terrible awful smelling gas. I have been told this will slowly go

away, and I'm anxious for the problem to be gone. Otherwise, I feel great.

How are you doing? Where do you live?

Regards,

Diane
