Guest guest
i know it will make sense once I get personally involved. How much does a fill cost? And since we can have them locally is there a way to get health insurance to cover it? Is it something that happens on an office visit or do you have to go thru same day surgery? Catmama Mills <techgurl88@...> wrote: Carla, the post op diet that Dr. Aceves puts everyone one is pretty strict. I know he does it for a reason because even Inamed recommends not eating solids until 6 weeks out. Basically it is 2 weeks clear liquids, 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks mushies then start solids in your 7th week. You can vary things somewhat, as some have according to what they can tolerate. Some people can stick with the post op diet, some people can't. The liquid stage is very hard because most people don't usually have any restriction. So the liquids go right through. Also his diet is a suggestion, you can add other clear liquids like Isopure to it. I also added cream soups earlier for more substance, like in the full liquid stage. By the way, even though most say you can get your fill at 6 weeks, I wouldn't recommend getting a fill until you have been on solids at least a week. And if you follow Dr. A's post op diet, that means not until your 8th week. But if you have not been following the diet and have been on solids in your 5 th week, then you should know if you need a fill or not by your 6th week. Make sense? My name is Carla or Catmama and I am new on the block so I really don't know what Isopure is but do take a powdered vitamin mineral supplement that you mix with water or juice. It called Emer'gen-C and comes in various fruit flavers with the addition of various minerals to suit your liking. I usually use the one that adds chondroitin but you can get it with extra calcium or whatever. I usually pour it with a bottle of spring water and shake and sometimes I add a vanilla package of HMR 500 for a full breakfast. I this a drink (Isopure) for a complete meal except it is clear? It is to my web site where I describe my first fill. You can also go to http://www.google.com and google a lot of your questions about the lapband. Lots of info out there. Basically it is an office visit, and some have had success with getting insurance to cover. The average cost is $250 for fills with flouro but you have to check around. Some are higher. Guest guest
Al... Each person is different. I've heard of people never needing a fill and I've met one person that needed 8 fills in the first 18 months. However, 8 fills is not common.al_gdwn <al_gdwn@...> wrote: Considering being lapped. Guest guest
What city/state are you in? $900 is obscene, I would never pay that. Not in a million years! I want look into fill center in Cardiff. Has anyone used them? I could use some words of encouragement here.....
Guest guest
I missed the part with the april fill dates with Dr A. Can anyone tell me when they are? From: kede95@...Date: Sun, 18 Feb 2007 06:35:29 -0800Subject: Re: Fills It would be a whole lot cheaper for you to go back toMexicali for your fill then to be driving all over theplace with out an appointment and then get turnedaway. Call or e-mail Gaby and see when the fill datesare. I have never used a fill center anywhere so I can'tcomment on that...and the place that wants to chargeyou $900.00 is just trying to get what they can...Thatwould be way out of line for most people. Good Luck to you. Sorry I can't be more helpful. B.--- tamiderr <Tamiderr312aol> wrote:> I can't believe that I have been almost a year with> out a fill. Guest guest
Does anyone know where you can get a fill done in the US? I live in Arkansa and every doctor I have called in Arkansas and Oklahoma say they won't give a fill if the surgery was done in Mexico. I can't afford to fly back to Mexico every time I need a fill.
