Guest guest
Hi Akbar, What made you chose the Clarion implant for your daughter? last I heard from you it was a choice between Nucleus and Med-el since she was going to Germany for the implant. Isn't her speech processor covered by some kind of warranty? I thought Clarion did insure the processor for at least a year. Write to the company and find out if it is covered by a warranty since it is less than a year old. Their e-mail address is: www.bionicear.com Not sure what the story is on how much people get charged. I've never needed a repair to my Nucleus that I had to pay for. And I haven't needed but 2 or 3 repairs in 7 years. Good luck, Nucleus Volunteer Date: Mon, 19 Apr 2004 22:59:18 -0700 (PDT) From: Akbar Al-Khaboury <akbaroman@...> Subject: Re: Outside USA / non-insurance - Mazoon Hi, My 11y daughter (Mazoon) received her CII BTE on 16/7/2003. We live in Oman (east to Dubai) and I am not sure weather my daughter's processor is covered by insurance. Around 2 months a go, my daughter's fail down and break in pieces. I have paid USD 550/- plus custoem as repaire charges. For sure its much more then then what people pay in USA. Don't you think so that charges should be same for all CI users regardless to their nationalites. As have to depend on AB for remaining of our life for my daughter's CI. I am just saying we have to be treated equally. There was no SOLID answer from AB for the high charges. Is there any way on insuring the processor out of USA?? Regards & Thanks, Akbar & Mazzon (11y) ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
