Guest guest
Hi, Ann, I will celebrate my 2 year anniversary June 4. I still have problems with lettuce and dairy. I still get severe " agent orange " if I eat anything greasy, which apparantly includes Chinese food and even just enough butter for a cobb of corn, so I pretty much avoid it. I am not proud to admit that I eat way more sugar/sweets than I should, but even at that I try to keep it to low-fat/sugar non-dairy ice cream bars, a few ginger snaps or chocolate kisses. I do the recommended Citrucel and vitamins (plus a bunch of other supplements like B-complex, C, iron), but only twice a day. I'm usually " out and about " during the day and have never been able to be consistent with that mid-day dosage. I have never been able to tolerate Gatorade, and V8 now feels too acidy in my stomach, but I do get plenty of fluids, take a potassium supplement, and liberally salt everything for the sodium. I have a physical scheduled 06/02 and will request they check all my nutritional levels and liver and kidney function. I know my iron has dropped because I was deferred as a blood donor, so I coubled my iron supplements to try to get it back up. However, I have had no decrease in energy level, which I believe is one of the symptoms of low iron and the B's. I still do a protein drink (with the Citrucel in it) most mornings and usually have one also right before bed. If I have eaten dinner kind of late, I may have a can of the low carb Slimfast (10g protein) and the pill form fiber instead of the higher protein mix with the powder Citrucel in it because it's not as filling. At this point, I am one of the lucky ones who is having trouble keeping my weight UP (who'd of thunk???) I am 5'3-1/2 and trying to keep my weight at 120, which is the lower half of my " normal " range. One morning this week I was down to 114 lbs. However, this is because I exercise so much. I teach aerobics and work out 8-10 hours a week. I am also seeing a guy who walks for exercise and has been taking me with him on 5 or 10 mile walks once or twice a week in addition to what I'm already doing. Interestingly, my gym was doing free BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate = the number of calories you burn when at rest) last week. I had had this test done (via a different technology) about 15 years ago when I weighed 135 lbs after doing the Optifast program (nothing but protein shakes for 7-1/2 months) and I measure 1034 then. And I worked out at least 5 hours a week back then. Last week I was a little over 2000!!! They were very impressed as even the aerobics director at the gym didn't measure as high. (Of course, I do not teach at this gym, and they did not know that I was also an instructor). But, this seems to be supporting evidence that the combination of the miracle of MGB, the exercise, and the FREQUENT SMALL MEALS can/will increase your metabolic rate, which in turn will make it easier to keep the weight of. Anyway, that's my story, and I'm sticking with it. in Atlanta 06/03/04 290/114-120 > > Hi Everyone: > > After two years out what are people eating? > > Do you still eat Citrucel and take three vitamins a day? > > Drink Gatorade or V8? > > Is everyone fighting weight gain or are some people still losing? > > Thanks Ann > > 304/138 > > -- > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.1.392 / Virus Database: 268.6.1/343 - Release Date: > 18/05/2006 > > > >
Guest guest
Hi: You sound as if you are doing well. I have some of the same digestive problems esp the lettuce and dairy. But the lettuce is getting better, (it's no longer recognizable!). Some Chinese food is ok, anything breaded is not, and I have to watch pork and other fatty foods. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond to me, it is too easy to forget our regime and it is great to hear how others who are out for a while are coping. Thanks Ann After two years out what are people eating? Hi, Ann, I will celebrate my 2 year anniversary June 4. I still have problems with lettuce and dairy.
