Guest guest
Hi , Which processor you get is up to you for the first one. How many you get is up to your insurance company. I got a BWP and a BTE when I was implanted 7 years ago. Medicare and Medicaid only cover ONE processor, so you have to choose which one you want. Some insurances cover 2 processors and people get 2 BTEs. So, depends on your insurance. Guest guest
How does the 3G BTE attach to your ear? I'm totally blind and want to make sure I don't lose the BTE if it accidentally falls off. For this reason, I may consider getting a BWP instead. Any thoughts? : Nucleus BWP/3G Hi , When one decides on the Nucleus implant, do they receive the body worn processor and the 3G BTE -- or do they only get one or the other? ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Guest guest
, Get the 3G. I was given what is called a mic loc. One end attaches to the ear hook. The other end has a loop which goes around the base of the 3G. You can adjust this for good fit and I love it. And in case you wonder, the whole thing is easy to deal with even for a blind person. Changing batteries is not a problem. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy. -- & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
, Someone else mentioned this before, but the BTE's basically sit on your ear with some variation on a flexible ear hook. If you have problems with it, your audiologist can make you an earmold that is really open so your ear doesn't feel plugged, but will help hold the BTE on. During your CI evaluating, they will likely show you all the models they offer and you could wear the BTE's and see which ones " fit " your ears best. ____________________________________________ Best Regards, Brad Ingrao, M.S.Ed.
