Guest guest
Hi , I can't help you with your question because I don't have a CI yet but all I can tell you is that call whoever is on call at your surgeon office. Does it look red and pussy? Try to put a warm cloth on it or even some ice. Hope you feel better soon. Take Care, Leah
Guest guest
, That's odd that there's no doctor on call at your clinic. There should be. I think you should go to the ER and get that spot checked. Better safe than sorry. Either way, you'll be glad that you went, whether you get peace of mind or find a problem that can be helped. Guest guest
, Someone from another list is going thru the same thing. He needed 4 magnets to keep the headpiece on and they had somehow cut into his head. His CI center was very concerned about it, indicating that it could be serious if the infection spread into the internal parts. He was not allowed to wear the headpiece for two weeks. Just had his follow-up today, and I don't know how that went. I would definitely contact whatever surgeon is on call at your CI center, your own general doctor if you can't reach anyone there, or go to the ER if you can't reach either one. Better safe than sorry. Guest guest
, Can you reduce the magnets in the coil? Too much magnet will squeeze the slin in that area. Use a sweatband or something to help hold the coil in place with a weaker magnet. But right now you are looking at needing to leave the coil off until that heals up. And call the clinic Monday. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* " Be part of the PROBLEM -or- be part of the SOLUTION. Your choice. Guest guest
If you have not already done so, get yourself to the ER immediately! You may have a serious infection that may be lingering effects of the tick bite or even Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Get off the comnputer and go NOW! I'm serious! You cannot afford to play around with this. I was at one time, before my hearing loss became too severe, a state- certified paramedic, and EMT and your symptoms concern me greatly. Let the ER docs check you over real good. Now GIT! Log outta here and GIT!!!!!
