,

I read some of the postop messages, but very seldom do I write. I was two

years postop in March, and yes I still take my Citrucel every morning. It's

interesting to see you say that you stopped taking it because you didn't need

it.

The Citrucel is what will stop your diarrhea, in my experience. There have

been times where on vacation or for whatever reason I have missed maybe two

mornings of taking it, and boy was I ever reminded of why I take it. See, those

times that I went two mornings without it, that's when I couldn't stay off

the toilet in the morning. So my suggestion would be to stop the Immodium and

start taking the Citrucel every morning and see it that helps.

Hi : I have just the total opposite of

you--I have so much trouble with constipation that it

drives me up the wall.

Question: You know that (before you had the MGB)

Pepto Bismol is also used for those who have

diarrahea? Are you taking it the 4x per day as we

were instructed to do post surgically? I would think

that if you are, that it should also " stop you up " a

bit just as it has done for me (but to the extreme in

me).

Citrucel has also done a job of constipating me as

well so I ended up having to take Benefiber which

isn't quite so bad.

But in saying these things, I know that what we each

take affects us all individually.

Good Luck

Hi !

Although I'm only 4 months out, I feel I can " but in " here, because

I used to have mild IBS. Even though it was mild, it was horrible

for having to run for the bathroom all the time.

Now, I went to a specialist, who told me...... 'diarheea and

constipation are two sides of the same coin, therefore, for one or

the other, the answer is MORE FIBER'.

When I had my clinic date with Dr Doroghazi, I asked him if that was

true, and he said YES.

So, my dear, try Citrucel.... the effect of fibre on diarheea is to

firm it up (because the fiber 'soaks up' the excess liquid)

Yeah, I know.... EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW.

But hey, you've gotta discuss this stuff, right? LOL

Hope this helps!

If you want to get the most out of your $17,000.00 investment in yourself,

take your fiber! Down 134 lbs and still taking my fiber everyday just as I was

instructed by Dr Rutledge, 2 tsp everyday for the rest of your life, a small

price to pay not to be fat!

The citrucel is for the fiber you need: it will help with the diarrhea

-- your problem is exactly why you need to take your

Citrucil. It will help ifyou take it regulary and correctly.

Citrucel may actually help regulate you. The methylcellulose it contains is

a " bulk " former, and can help solidfy loose bowels.

What makes you think you don't need Citrucel? I'm two 1/2 years post op

and still take my Citrucel. It may help your diarrhea by giving your

stools some bulk. It also helps in weight loss. Give it a try.

As the previous post said, citrucel works both ways, sometimes helps control

diarrhea, sometimes speeds in elimination. Give it a try. barb dudley, high
