I believe that there was a man in his 80s and he got the cochlear implant and doing great. Go for it if you are thinking about it. Feel free to email any other questions you might have about the implant, specifically the Nucleus because that's what I have, and how it sounds. Certain doctors who are doing studies have permission to implant younger than 12 months.
