Guest guest
Hi Trudy, I use a product called FIT which is available in most produce sections of local grocers. Eileen [ ] Cleaning Veggies Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if everyone is washing their vegetables first. I have just been using the tap water; however, I was recently told that this was not sufficient. What is everyone using? Kind regards, Trudy
Guest guest
Hi Eileen, Thanks--I remember seeing a demonstration of FIT last year at my local grocery store and forgot about it. I will investigate this the next time I go to get my veggies. This girl I was talking to recently, who had her own miracle story with respect to her health, stressed the importance of washing veggies. She buys organic and washes her veggies in food grade hydrogen peroxide and distilled water. Does anyone else do this? I have read that you can also use apple cider vinegar or powdered Vitamin C. I think I will start washing my veggies. Guest guest
I understand these products do NOT work, they are put out by the chemical companies as a responds to the FEAR people have about chemicals on the produce. Don't panic GO organic. Rand Sovereign57 <sovereign57@...> wrote: Hi Trudy, I use a product called FIT which is available in most produce sections of local grocers. Guest guest
also hydrogen peroxide mixed in water (food grade of course) is a good NATURAL cleaner. So is apple cider vinegar (the real thing... not flavored) Rala [ ] Cleaning Veggies > > > Hi everyone, > > I just wanted to know if everyone is washing their vegetables first. > I have just been using the tap water; however, I was recently told > that this was not sufficient. Guest guest
Hi Mrguru, I have never heard this before, so I really appreciate your sharing this with me. I went to my local health food store this weekend, where they sell organic veggies, and they recommended Hydrogen Peroxide, but they never mentioned anything about not using it with carrots. Since I'm going through so many carrots these days with my juicing, this is important information. Thanks, again. Guest guest
Trudy...I am also juicing to the tune of 12 a day or as close to that as I can get. I have been doing this for almost 3 months. I am trying to eat a diet of 80% raw and 20% cooked food. This is all in an effort to shrink mets to the nodes of the neck from breast cancer ( the first of which was 17 years ago). I have done it all except for perhaps some really exotic things. I've been taking Iscadore for 13 years..each time I'd have a recurrence the dose would be upped. Anyhow, I haven't been on this forum for months due to computer problems etc. so I missed alot of stories. I very much want to know why your juicing and perhaps we can support one another. Please write to me privately and tell me your story. Thanks, Judy Hoffman (Gainesville, Fl.) Guest guest
Hi Judy, Thank you for your kind note. I regret that I am in a relapse with my illness right now. The stress of dealing with allopathic doctors has caused me to do a belly flop! ;-) In all of the cancer literature I have read they all talk about the importance of avoiding stress. For years I have known that allopathic doctors are a major stress for me. I find that I will start to have progress on an alternative program, only to be set back to ground zero by one doctor's visit. One veterinarian I talked to told me that she found it more stressful going to a doctor's visit than having a dog on her table with a cardiac arrest! Hopefully, I will feel better this evening or tomorrow and I will post the program that I am attempting to do. In studying different cancer programs, I found that I went back to the program that my colon hydrotherapist made up for me. Basically, it is a cancer program; however, she made it a custom fit especially for me because of my diabetes. It is quite similar to one that I found in a book, " A Cancer Battle Plan " (Six strategies for beating cancer, from a recovered " hopeless case " ) by Anne E. Frahm. However, the major difference between my therapist's program and the one in the book is that I am to eat three meals a day. My therapist would not allow me to do a fast. Last year when I saw her, she told me that I was an " emergency case. " I feel that I am a lot sicker now than I was last year. My health situation is probably made worse because of all this unresolved conflict that I have with allopathic physicians and all of the games that they play. Anyway, I will post my program just as soon as I am able. Guest guest
Just got this email today.. and since we were talking about it... I think I would use food grade hydrogen peroxide if i did this though. Suzi How to Clean Your VegetablesAdapted from Total Renewal: 7 Key Steps to Resilience, Vitality & Long-Term Health, by Lipman, M.D. ( Tarcher, Putnam, 2003). Simple SolutionFood-borne illness derived from contaminated produce is the largest source of food poisoning. Sumner, a food scientist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, developed an effective disinfecting procedure using white vinegar (or cider vinegar) and 3 percent hydrogen peroxide (the same as found at the drugstore). These ingredients are completely nontoxic and inexpensive and work not only on fruit and vegetables but can be used to sanitize counters and preparation surfaces, including wooden cutting boards, as well. Here are the very simple directions for using these ingredients effectively: After you put the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide into individual spray bottles: 1. Spray your produce or work surface thoroughly first with vinegar and then with hydrogen peroxide. 2. Then rinse the produce under running water or wipe the surface with a clean wet sponge.
