Thanks Cathryn,

I have been having a problem with bowel movements. I don't have them very often and when I do I am very constipated and have a very hard time. Could this also be a sign of gall bladder problems?

Re: HELP! anyone(Dana)

Dear ,

I suspect that the brownish stuff you are having in your reflux is bile. Bile, when it is freshly produces is a dark greeninh fluid. I turns brow as it oxidizes. It also is very acidic and is involved in heartburn.

While I agree an unfill would be good to get some relief, you may want to have your gall bladder checked. Many people develop gall baldder problems after significant weigh loss (more likely if the weight loss was rapid).

Remember I am not a clinician (but I have a degree in biochemistry and used to teach anatomy and ohysiology to nursing students). So this is just my opinion. I think you should seek medical advice.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Peace, Cathryn

Dear , Sorry, I can't help on this one. I have no idea if gall bladder contributes to constipation. You'll need a the advice of a medical professional on this one. My gut tells me that little in, little out. I haven't had even a slight problem in this area except for a few times during the post surgery period. But I always have been a heavy drinker (of water I mean). I normally use my morning time to get my water in. I have a 22 oz. water bottle that I keep at my desk. I normally make a 22 oz herbal tea for my first 'dose'. Then I try to get in 2 more 22 oz bottles in before lunch. Yeah, it is a lot, but I've found that this routine works for me because after I've had my morning waters, I don't worry about how much I drink for the rest of the day. So, I figure I average 75-100+ ounces of water a day. (Remember I also live in a tropical climate where drinking plenty of fluids are a must.) Good luck on figuring this all out. Please keep us posted. Peace, Cathryn

Sounds like a great Idea, I have IC so the less that can keep me jogging to the potty at night the best. Glad you mentioned that to . I remember my cousin having a problem and her doctor put her on stool softeners. Maybe that would help your body to get over the shock it might be feeling.

, I went through the same thing...I found out I wasn't drinking enough water, once I started drinking more water I don't have any problems in that area now...I'm not much of a water drinker, but now that is all I drink...So start drinking at least 8 glasses a day... Good luck, RenaCathryn Evanoff <ce96940@...> wrote: Dear , Sorry, I can't help on this one. I have no idea if gall bladder contributes to constipation.
