Call your mgb doctor, but I believe you can take Liquid Tylenol (adult). My

pharmacist told me the Liquid Tylenol for Sore Throat is the same thing. I've

only had to take it twice since January -- and I just pray I never need it

again! I don't do well taking liquid medicines of ANY kind, so believe me, it's

a last resort if I take this. Last I had was in March -- so 6+ months ago.

Hope you feel better.

horrible headache

Hi all,

I've had a horrible allergy headache for two days now. I know it's allergy

because I've had these before and they have a specific place where they hurt

behind my eyes. For whatever reason I've notice right before it's going to rain

I

get these. It's not very often that I get them because I live in So. Cal and

their isn't much rain. Anyhow, I usually take an allergy med as soon as I

notice the signs of an impending headache. But if I don't catch it soon enough

it

just gets worse and worse. Well that's what happened this weekend although

different than all the other times, because of the surgery I can no longer take

pain meds. Or I should say any that I had on hand. I almost went to the

emergency room last night at 4:00am because I just couldn't take the pain

anymore. I

held off and kept up with the allergy meds every 4 hours and twice took a

Xanax to help me sleep. I know Xanax are o.k. to take after the surgery. But

they

don't help the pain. Anyhow, my question is, what kind of pain meds can we

take? I do not want this to happen again. It was horrible and even though it

isn't as painful it still hasn't left me yet. I want to be prepared if this

happens again. Also, my husband travels a lot and he was in Canada all week,

came

home on Friday and leaves tomorrow for Kansas. That's why I couldn't bare to

wake him to take me to the emergency room at 4:30am But it's ruined our whole

weekend. :( any suggestions? I had vicodan here from a previous dental appt.

but I believe that's a no no. So I didn't take it.

Thanks,

Traci

We can take Tylenol elixer and Benedryl liquid. You can also try the topical

remedies such as Head On. A cold compress on your eyes or the back of your neck

might work as well. If my eyes hurt along with the headache, I place wet, cold

teabags on my eyes. Hope this helps. You must be miserable.

Thanks so much for all your responses,

The headache was bad! That's for sure. I knew I could take liquid tylenol but

for whatever reason in my head I was afraid to take anything. I need to just

know moving forward that if I need it it's ok or Dr. wouldn't of said it. I

think I was taken off guard so soon after surgery. I just wasn't expecting an

unrelated problem.

Thank you for responding that means a lot to me.

Traci

ps. The headache has been gone since Monday morning!

When I had my surgery they recommended Vioxx for pain- since that has been taken

off the market- you can take Celebrex- with a prescription from your doc.

Grizz,

You really always make me laugh out loud. This short post was no exception I can

just see someone with Tylonol elixer dripping from one corner of her mouth and

Benadryl from another applying head on to poor lil head and tea tears coming

from wet tea bags. Sorry to make lite of headaches but this one made me laugh a

lot!!!
