Guest guest
Hey all, Okay this is wierd!! I'm 6 1/2 months post op and the first 2 months or so I had the orange thing going on....GRoss. It stopped and I'm under alot of stress right now and have been losing too fast for the last 2-3 weeks. I lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks. Without appetite...I've tried to eat and get the vitamins in...I've noticed the orange stuff is coming back and I haven't been eating fatty foods at all!! Is it the fat that I'm losing? What's it from...Did anyone else lose fast from stress or anything? Is it dangerous to loose so fast? I can't help it..I keep losing so fast. The doctor even prescribed Valium for me..does that have anything to do with the it? _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. Guest guest
, Hi! Yes you are losing fat when you see that orange oil. I have noticed that every time I see the oil come back I start losing again. You will lose fast some weeks and slow down in others. Nobody loses at a constant rate. I have had two months out of 10 when I plateaued. Then when it starts again. I usually lose 6-10 lbs really fast then slow down again. Please be careful with the Valium. Are you anxious about the weight loss or are you experiencing other stressors in your life? I tried to call you back last night and got no answer. Please call me today. Guest guest
Does anyone have a problem with " constant orange leakage? " If so what is causing this and do you have any suggestions? Trish Wagner Dr R 2/12/03 279/
Guest guest
The cause is grease in your diet... You're getting rid of it. I always considered that a " good " thing. <grin> in OK In a message dated 6/11/03 2:22:23 PM Central Daylight Time, wagnerpk@... writes: > > > Does anyone have a problem with " constant orange leakage? Guest guest
I had the orange problem Trish. It lasted until I was nearly a year out. It is fat, plain and simple. We no longer process fats the same and this is how our body rids itself of them. It will pass. It's probably a good thing. But when you're needing diapies...it's not fun. LOL. Most of the folks who have the orange discharge are losing weight rapidly. Take comfort in that! Guest guest
I get this when I eat fried food; it comes from undigested fat. This is the same thing that happens when people take the diet pill that interferes with fat digestion. , Ph.D. 9836 Natick Road Burke, VA 22015
Guest guest
This happens because you are eating fat in your diet and your gut no longer absorbs fat very well. It has to go somewhere, so it comes out the other end. Decrease the fat you are eating and it will slow or go away. Guest guest
Hi Trish. The orange stuff is the fats that your body is getting rid of. Try staying away from fatty foods and see how it goes. Remember, because of the bypass, fats just sort of slide through. Try the fat free products or soy products (they have cream cheeses, veggie cheeses, butters, " meats " etc and you still get protein). I wish you the best. Nov. 6, 2002 376/266 Orange team > Does anyone have a problem with " constant orange leakage? Guest guest
You are probably taking in too much fat. The orange is definitely unprocessed fats being excreted by your body. Limit your fat intake and you will see an improvement. If you are gassy, sometimes the orange may eek its way out, so try to avoid foods that cause gas as well. This should improve for you in the coming months-meanwhile, you may want to wear a pad to protect your clothing.
